Tennessee's annual Orange & White spring football exhibition game will be April 12 at Neyland Stadium, a department spokesman confirmed on Monday.

The Vols will open their second spring practice season under coach Butch Jones on March 7.

The spring game is eight days earlier than the 2013 event that drew an announced crowd of 61,076 fans, the second-largest recorded attendance in Orange & White game history. Easter falls on April 20 this year, forcing many teams to move their spring game one week earlier.

Teams are allotted 15 practice dates for spring football. The Vols have five weeks from the start of spring camp until the exhibition game, although the schedule will include a buffer for spring break, which runs from March 17-21 this year.
