Alabama rolls to 80-61 win over Mississippi State

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Trevor Releford scored 28 points and Alabama coasted to an 80-61 win over Mississippi State on Wednesday night.

Releford was 10-of-13 shooting with six 3-pointers for the Crimson Tide (8-8, 2-1 Southeastern Conference), which has won a league-high 14 consecutive SEC home games.

Shannon Hale added 12 points for Alabama, Retin Obasohan had 11 and Rodney Cooper 10.

Releford was 6 of 9 from 3-point range and is averaging 22 points over the last five games.

Gavin Ware's 18 points on 7-of-8 shooting led Mississippi State (11-5, 1-2), which was held within two points of its season-low in scoring. Craig Sword scored 12 points.

Alabama shot 52.6 percent (30 of 57) from the floor.

It was a dominant performance for the Tide, which led by 12 at halftime after scoring just 58 points in a road loss to Georgia.
