In December, Cori Close said a mouthful about Notre Dame — not once but twice.

This is Holly's opportunity to prove that she is the right coach to bring The Lady Vols back to the prominence they enjoyed in the past. If she is unable to win with a team as talented as this Lady Vols team is, then???

If the Lady Vols can stay out of foul trouble and start Graves, Harrison, and Russell inside and play them at "least" 32 min. each I think Tenn. will win. If they only play half the game you can just forget it. I believe the game will be won or lost inside. I will be there cheering them on. GO LADY VOLS!

Holly has put her mark on this team and it is not a good one! The lack of "Coaching" against LSU was SO apparent! The way Simmons has not been used because of her play is confusing! She can be LEADING the team at half and then be regulated to the bench because of one or two missed shots?? That SHOULD be Massengale!! She can lose the dribble, shoot bricks and play full bore erratic and Holly very seldom will sit her on the bench!

ANY OTHER TEAM would have been built around Simmons. Last year she was the Co-MVP!!! As a Senior she has been under utilized and we have missed seeing the full potential of one of UT's best ever rise to the top because of Holly Warlick's lack of coaching - there I said it!

I love the Lady Vols but they do not have the leadership to be a Championship team with Holly at the top. I hope for a win today but I am not that hopeful. Statues, banners, uniforms and locker rooms do NOT win games. TEAMS DO UNDER GREAT COACHING!! GO LADY VOLS!!

Sorry, this is not a quality team and the game won't be close. They will get their usual 20+ turnovers, show their terrible defense and shoot under 40%. The MSU game was a good yardstick. They start with 1 for 8 while missing 7 layups. Simmons comes in the in the next possessions, commits 2 turnovers as she dribbles the ball off her knee and travels. Oh yeh, and missed a shot. They make stars out of the opponents. Grant got so many wide open jumpers it's like the Lady Vols didn't care how many shots she took. The ball went to her, to another and back to her with NO Lady Vol even close. You deny the great shooter the ball if she gets in....you are in her face. How many times was the ball dribbled into the paint where one of the 3 defenders took it away? How many passes from way outside were thrown into the post....to the MSU player? This team commits too many turnovers, can't shoot and can't guard any good player. Holly isn't showing great coaching. I want more (Pat)..hands on hips, staring the offender in the eyes and I want less hand clapping after horrible turnovers.

Unfortunately, every thing you said in your comment about the LVs is true. The main reasons for the inconsistencies, turnovers, poor defense and offense are frequent and unwise player substitutions and frequent starting lineups. Notre Dame will defeat the LVs by 30-40 points.
