Aaron Douglas was an offensive lineman from Maryville, Tennessee, who played for the University of Tennessee for two seasons, transferred to Arizona Western, a junior college, for a year, and was set to play his final season at the University of Alabama. Aaron Douglas was found dead in Jacksonville, Florida, on the night of Wednesday, May 11, 2011.
While at Maryville High School, Aaron Douglas was a member of four undefeated state champion football teams as a defensive end and tight end, as well as a starter on the Rebels' 2007 state champion basketball team.
Aaron Douglas signed to play at the University of Tennessee in 2007, making his commitment to then-coach Phillip Fulmer, whom Aaron's father, David, had known since his own playing days at UT. Aaron Douglas' mother, Karla Horton Douglas, was a Lady Vol player, making Aaron a seemingly royal member of the Vol family.
The firing of coach Phillip Fulmer and the hiring and departure of Lane Kiffin took their toll on Aaron Douglas, who announced his decision to leave Tennessee for Arizona Western before the 2010 season. Following a year at that junior college, Aaron Douglas transferred to Alabama, where he was set to compete for playing time during his senior season in 2011.
