Jim Kelson - Tennessee men's golf coach

The University of Tennessee named Jim Kelson its men's golf coach in 1998. Jim Kelson's inaugural team won the program's first tournament crown since 1996 that season by winning the Crown Classic. Jim Kelson was named the SEC's coach of the year in 2007 for his efforts in guiding the Vols, who have missed the NCAA tournament only once under his watch.

A native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Jim Kelson competed at Oklahoma and Alabama after winning the Oklahoma Amateur Championship in 1983. Jim Kelson's coaching career began at Florida in 1988 before he became Columbia State head coach in 1992. Jim Kelson remained head coach there before coming to Tennessee.
