Matt Kredich was no stranger to building successful swimming programs even before coming to Tennessee. Having turned around the teams at Brown and at Richmond, Tennessee made Matt Kredich head coach in 2005.
Matt Kredich immediately revamped the culture at Tennessee, with an eye on having swimmers and divers compete at an Olympic level. Christine Magnuson typifies Matt Kredich's aim, having run through the 2007-08 season with a string of success that ended with a pair of silver medals in the Beijing Olympics.
A native of Durham, North Carolina, Matt Kredich swam for Duke before entering coaching.
