Walter Goolsby, 90, was a Radarman 1C aboard the USS McCoy Reynolds, a destroyer escort, in the Pacific during World War II. The DE-440, seen here in a precise scale model, was in the invasion of Palau, Leyte in the Philippines, the bombardment of Yap Island, and the Occupagtion of Japan.
