A personal letter from U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Thomas Burrowes dated Jan. 3, 1955, to retired Navy Third Class Engineerman James Ford has been preserved in his collection of Korean War memorabilia at his home in south Knoxville. Ford served under Burrowes in the Commander Destroyer Flotilla Flag Division during the Korean War.
