Not necessary or called for, very poor taste and not funny. Proctor should not be allowed to do anymore drawing for this newspaper or the University of Tennessee.
As a Knoxville resident and a big UT fan, I am shocked and disturbed that the Knoxville News Sentinel would publish this!!! We don't need stuff like this at a time when UT and the community is trying to make sense of the current situation. Terrible!!
why would you do this to your hometown team, embarassing kns show support for the team and university they need it the most now, not there hometown paper making fun of them
People, please contact the KNS editor and tell him of your displeasure dealing with Proctor and his cartoon. It also would not be a bad idea to contact the University and let them know, the basketball department and Mr. Hamilton. I am sure Bruce Pearl didn't think the cartoon was funny.
I am an alum and bleed orange, but I've got to say I kinda think this is a pretty funny toon. Number one, the KNS is NOT, repeat NOT, owned by nor does it owe any allegiances to UT. Secondly, the young men have said themselves tha they brought shame on the University, and lastly, if you can't laugh at yourself what can you laugh at?
Look at it this way, thanks to the remaining Vol hoopsters there are now only two remaining undefeated teams in men's college basketball.
Proctor, you are totally insensitive for posting this cartoon and pouring salt in a wound that is fresh and an embarrassment to The University of Tennessee. Go to Florida. They will love you there.

I am tempted to cancel my subscription to this newspaper. What were they thinking? Like Murvul said...."SHAME SHAME"!!!

Definetly something you might read in a 'Bama, Fla., LSU newspaper. Not K-town's home paper.

Funny, a few men has brought this to UT. So Laugh along, it's what makes us such good people. We can take a joke.

Joke or not, it's inappropriate at this time when the town and the team is trying to heal.
