  • Cuonzo Martin
School: Missouri State. Martin won the Missouri Valley Conference regular-season title in his third year, but had to settle for the NIT after losing in the conference tournament title game. Martin is believed to make around $300,000 a year.
  • Richmond coach Chris Mooney has the Spiders in the NCAA Sweet 16 in his sixth season at the Atlantic 10 Conference mid-major program. He signed a contract extension in 2010 that takes him through 2017 and could be worth as much as $700,000.
  • Shaka Smart
School: Virginia Commonwealth (2nd year). Smart’s first VCU team went 27-9 and his second is in the Sweet 16 after wins over Southern Cal, Georgetown and Purdue.
  • Brad Stevens
School: Butler. Stevens has broken the NCAA record for most wins in his first four years as a head coach and has the Bulldogs back in the Sweet 16 after a narrow loss in the national championship game last season. He signed a new contract last spring that runs through 2022 and is speculated to be in the $1 million per year range.
  • Mark Turgeon
School: Texas A&M. Turgeon is 97-40 since taking over for Billy Gillispie four years ago, winning at least 24 games each year. It is believed Turgeon’s package is about $1.5 million a year.
  • Buzz Williams
School: Marquette. Williams’ fourth season finds the Golden Eagles in the Sweet 16. His salary a couple of years ago was around $850,000 per year but is no doubt more now.
