Lane thinks the set of skills this guy brings give his offense the best chance to win games.
As I play back the audio: Has there been year over year improvement with Johnathan's game skills? There is no doubt he wants to improve and works hard at it.
JC always "says" the right things. Always has. He talks a good talk. He just can't walk a good walk. Unfortunately his actions and abilities are just not at the level that is needed to play in the SEC and for the University of Tennessee. But he really is all we have at this time. He is the same ol' JC - practices well but plays like "crapton" in real game situations when the competition is better than scrimmage quality. I am not sure that Stevens would be any better, especially if CLK says they are both close in ability. We are going to be in for a long and at times very disappointing season. I am pulling for them and I believe CLK will eventually get the talent in to start competing at a high level again, but it isn't going to be this year. My expectations have been realigned.
Was that confidence in his voice that he can "watch the films" and make corrections or was that arrogance that he has to even answer to anyone for his extremely poor performance? It sounded like he is wearing rose colored glasses or really is falling for the "smoke and mirrors" that he has been fed by his "advisors". The advisors had better get real in their handling of this guy, because I hear no remorse in his poor play. He thinks, "everything is OK, there's no need to worry". I fear that the Gators will knock some sense into him.
does nick stevens even show up to practice? i mean, if CLK says he will play the best person for the job, then, compared to crompton, stevens must be handicapped and blind if he is worse!! We also have several good freshman who could play qb I.e. Nu'keese, he played some in HS, and Teague, if Jones is back for good, then put teague or Nuke under cneter and let them have a shot!!Heck, let Eric Berry play both of the ball if need be, anything than the current qb fiasco,
Nothing to be sorry for, cause crompton is better QB than any of us. Next year will be super. Wanna blame someone... BLAME the old coach for letting Tennessee get so bad. Mark my words we will OWN Fla next year.
