Totally agree, they need that option on here. When Kiffin said "that's not how we play," in reference to Bryce Brown running out of bounds, I felt a tear come to my eyes.

If he's on the field, there is always the chance for injury. Using that as an excuse not to give it 110% on every play does not satisfy me...and it shouldn't satisfy any Vols fans. I like the new direction, and the lesson being taught here.

I think the crowd surprised me omre than anything. Ive seen bigger and louder but ive never seen our crowd give so much individual attention to players. I expected the E.B. chant and Bryce getting a huge cheer but people chanting Nuke and Oku was great. That was big for recruiting

You are a complete moron. BB could have ran over two defenders like he did on his other TD for another TD!!! There is ALWAYS a chance to get hurt in football ! Even when you run out of bounds you can get hit late, run into some obstacle on the sideline, etc..... There are several more options than the ones you listed. If, you think BB should have ran out of bounds. You need to watch UT's play from last year to watch Foster continue to run out of bounds repeatedly. Because Foster won't be running out of bounds for the Texans or any other team. Foster will be on the bench and out of the league quickly. He is a soft pansy azz!!!

Proud of freshman #10 Teague who is from my local highschool in Henry County. So glad Kiffin was able to recruit him away from FL. I was dreading to have to watch the gators play just to watch Teague lol. He is a good kid with his head screwed on straight. Great day for a freshman.

And that is exactly why you are not coaching the Vols and neither is Fulmer's staff! He is exactly right coaching him that way. If you want to win championships, you have to give 110% every single play and yard.

He was simply relaying our new attitude and identity to the freshman. If they don't set that standard now, then they will have a hard time with any future kids that come in here to play.

GO VOLS!!!!

How about Bryce Brown maturity in his response to getting his arse chewed being that of a mature young man and taking the criticism constructively.

Proud of everyone involved. Im in Fla and here to tell you Florida is waiting for us. We better play like we did opening day. If we do, I think we stand a chance of winning.
Thank God for the new coach and staff. I had almost given up on Tennessee past couple of years. Being a Tennessee fan in Fla can get rough. GO VOLS@!

I voted other. The linebacker play was a lot better than I thought it would be. The corners played a little too deep for me, but that is the case in a zone defense.

Dude! Where is your football savey? Would the 'greats' run out of bounds? NO! Kiffin is preparing these kids for the pros and their behavior and thinking like one should start right now. There are a lot of pros who protect their multi-million dollar contracts by not finishing their runs. There are no such contracts in college ball. Defenses feared Walter Peyton near the sidelines while running the ball. Barry Sanders would have made three cuts and scored from the same place. The signal Kiffin is sending is one of great value for these kids, 'being good isn't good enough', become great. I applaud him for the call he made with BB Saturday. Being good may win games but will never win championships- being great on the other hand......

Well, ummm, I think what BB will see on the film is that he had the opportunity to make a vertical cut in the secondary between two DBs which would have given him the opportunity to break a tackle and perhaps take it to the house. These are little things in a game against the WKUs of the world, they may be the difference between victory or loss in a close game against a superior team like UF. That is what this staff is drilling into these players and it is absolutely the correct message. It is a message that hasn't been delivered by our coaching in a long time. Thank goodness for this staff.

These are the kind of wins we need to build on, Kiffin and company getting on our players for not following through, all of them playing at their highest level, and finally if the coaches are in it, and the players are in it - "WE DON'T NEED TO WAIT AND SEE THE FILM; BECAUSE THEY'RE ALREADY WE WORKIN' LIKE HEK"

I think the intensity of the defense by not slacking up with the big lead. If this was last year, the score would have probably been 35-17 or something like that. The ole Chavis defense would have gone to the prevent defense and WK would have been driving down the field 5 or 10 yards a clip. It was good to see that same beginning intensity and enthusiasm the entire game.

I was between Crompton's 5 tds and the play of the defense.... i chose the 5 tds, but the defense... I knew they'd be good, but they were outright smothering.... and when we got to third down, we stopped them consistently. I haven't seen that from a UT team in a LONG time.

Absolutely! Very true! That goes way back to pee wee league. They have quit coaching the running backs to high step as a defender is running them down from behind in pee wee. Remember, the times your chin was tore up by a rb,s cleat while trying the diving tackle. A running back has to finish the play or he is vulnerable to a major injury. GO VOLS!!!

I voted for the 5 TD passes but what impressed me most was the coaching. No delay of game penalties because they couldn't get the play into the QB. To make a long story short, everyone looked like they were on the same page. Haven't seen that in a while.

When player play to not get hurt, teams lose. I for one believe in fighting, scrating and clawing for every yard.

Here is a fifth possible outcome:

He goes out of bounds short of picking up the extra yardage and our drive stalls at the two yard line and we have to settle for a field goal.

Hmmm?

the qb and a running back are 2 diffrent stories. imo the only time our rb's should head to the sideline is for clock management other wise run over the db. we need to show we're not going to take phooey from anyone anymore. it's big time football and now we can show a few we're here to compete. That is stupid. The fact is that this was against WKU. If we were up against Alabama or Florida, that extra few yards could make a huge difference. he only had one guy to beat, and he had the angle on him. He could have cut up his back and possibly taken it for a touchdown. He has to get the play right to maximize the opportunity. If you can break one like that against a higher caliber team, it can break them down.

I don't think it had anything to do with finishing the run it was the decision to cut towards the sidelines instead of up the field.

In high school he probably simply outran the angle and raced to the end zone by cutting toward the sideline.

This will not happen in CFB. He allowed the defender to use the sideline to assist in the tackle.

A better choice would have been to continue north and south and try and break the tackle.

Gran was simply emphasizing this.

GoVols!

i agree 100 percent!! BB and almost every back tenn has had in the last 20 years have been 215-235 lbs and most dbs average around 175-190 lbs!! use that size and floor him!! LOL i love the message sent out by the coaching staff !! i was very impressed by the execution, play and discipline in all areas of the game. CoachLK has sent a message and shown discipline and getting it right the first time is what will win you the games!! im just amazed at the consistency of the running and passing games! The talent has always been here but never used to its fullest potential!! GO VOLS

After the win on Saturday, there are still the "Fulmer lovers" that say, "that win didn't prove anything to me. They did not look any better than last year". It really ticks me off but be warned - they are out there. Also said Fulmer was at the game in the sky box. I said rather he be in the sky box than on the sidelines. Also, said Hamilton will be out in four years and Fulmer AD. Anyone heard anything like that?
