A runaway for Gators 48-10
LaneTrain writes:
The vols will score 10-14 at least just because of 'garbage time' in the 4th quarter. The Gators will score as many as they want to score. Look to Tebow to still be playing in the 4th quarter and not because it's a close game.
LaneTrain writes:
Btw, I guess I'm one of the few that expected to lose to Florida before the season. I do look for it to be close the 1st qtr and then Fla rolls in the 2nd.
There still is no reason we can't win 8 games this year and go to the peach bowl. Remember, Saban went 7-6 in his first year. Meyer 9-4.

TDTN, don't forget the O-line forgot how to block UCLA's D-line. Me thinks most of the SEC has a better D-line than UCLA.

My guess is vols get 6 and the gators 35 unless Bray reports for duty early. I hoped for 6-6 this year but now it may not be that good. Heck Crompton may just resign after this game then 7-5 is my guess.

I like Kiffin as a coach and I think he will eventually do well at UT but he's no Saban or Meyer. Give him a few years and he may get there... we hope.

It's a sad day for most of the Big Orange Nation. It was the reality that our legacy is long gone. Gone are the days when we expected to win every time the Vols walked on the field instead of now hoping to win while teams are looking for revenge from years of losing to us. Gone our days that made being a Vol so very special, the legends, legacies and victories. The memories of knowing where you sat, what lucky jersey you wore and who you watched all those special victories with.
Lane Kiffin is not the answer, and all of the seasoned Vol fans know this. Coach Kiffin is not going to be the answer for this program, when it mattered most, when he could have made his first mark in Vol history he blew it. Coach Kiffin could not seperate himself from the UCLA coaching staff and make the decisions to pull out a win. There aren't any excuses you can give me for our head coach not to have found a way to win yesterdays game. The purpose of making the coaching change was to find a coach that was special, a coach that could make an immediate impact on a team that had a depleted talent pool. Do you realize that a special coach with all the opportunites in the UCLA game would have taken that game over... It will be many years and several coaching changes before our beloved Vols will see days of old. I am not a angry Fulmer supporter, it was time for the coach to leave but UT missed an opportunity to find that special coach that would turn our program around. We just hired more of what we had and spent millions to do so.
Vol Nation, I hope I'm wrong but I think you all know deep down it's the truth. I will still support and love our Vols but what a rough decade it will be. Think of all the great memories with your father, children, friends and family we will be missing for a long time come. The Vol way of life is over for many years to come.

ZERO!!! All you morons who were saying we were going to win a couple of weeks ago need to wake up. We are still a very pathetic offense with Crompton at the helm and until that changes we will continue to be. Kiffin has given them plenty of reasons to run it up on us and they will. I will be shocked if we sniff the endzone.

I'm not sold on Bray, I hope we can get another qb to commit as well. There has to be some reason he was only committed to San Diego State. Maybe he's a diamond in the rough, I hope so. (sigh)

There is not a good excuse to keep Crompton at QB! I feel sorry for him and everything he has endured but he is not capable of being an SEC QB plain and simple. If Kiffin keeps him in he will endure the wrath of the fans!!!! There is no reason to KEEP PLAYING HIM HE IS NO GOOD SO GIVE STEPHENS A SHOT COMMON HORSE SENSE THE FANS WILL NOT PUT UP WITH ANOTHER YEAR LIKE LAST WE SAW IT YESTERDAY AND DO NOT WANT TO SEE IT AGAIN the caps represent anger in my voice!!!!!!!!!!

Actually tyhe survey should read:
Jonathon as QB: POINTS LESS THAN 10 with 5 INT
Nick Stephens as QB: Points 28 with 1 INT
Enough said
Coach Kiffin: just stop the Jonathon Crompton save the world party- yank him out and put Stephens in he is better you know it, your players know it, the fans know it..so do you really need Heath Shuler's approval?

I say we score points..Eric Berry will get a turnover and return it for a touchdown..The defense will give up 3 touchdowns because Florida is the best team we will play all year and they will be on the field for 45 minutes or more,,start going for the pick and give up some big plays late..And they may be just a little fatigued after playing most of the game..
The offense will create either directly or indirectly 20 to 40 points for Florida..We should really play our 2nd and 3rd string players...Maybe bench the defense...It'd be sad to lose some key players in what will certainly be a whoopin..Eric Berry should leave the team and go pro..a shame to risk injury playing 3 times as long in every game for the sorriest team in the SEC..One thing is for sure..I won't be watching..I may check out the Memphis and Vandy games...Kentucky will kick our butts in Lexington...I think we're looking at 3 wins this year..

I think you're right about JC. He got his head screwed up last year so bad and when he did make a mistake he dropped his head and give up. Then, right at the end, he woke back up, got on to the offense, and when they went back on the field they played much better, until he screwed up again, then all downhill. I have to say though, after the second int., the o-line or the receivers didn't give him anything either. They gave up just as he did. Also, if CK would have tried a pass on 2nd and goal instead of trying to run, we still might have pulled it out. By then, CK and the team had given up totally on JC. At that point, when CK had decided not to trust JC to throw at all, he should have put NS in. What else could have went wrong? If we are gonna have another 2008, why not try to give NS as much game time as possible. On the other hand, where is Lamiason and how is he grasping the scheme? I understand he didn't choke under pressure, and that's all it would have taken yesterday. GO VOLS!!

If you were asked before the game who would win knowing Tennessee would turn the ball over 4 times what would you have said? Come on? This game was lost on miscues! The offense was 1D because of miscues! These coaches will right the ship. The defense will be ready for Florida - as long as offense doesn't put them in bad positions. Closer than you think.

The Vol offense with Crompton will be shut out. Monte Kiffen's defense will hold FL to less than 35 points, and hopefully put some good licks on Timmy the Virgin. Unfortunately, the game will be rout because our offense will be humiliated and held to less than 100 yds.
wags32 writes:
Sadly you are right and holding them to 35 points will be doing a very good job with the short field the offense will put them in. People IT WILL BE JUST LIKE LAST YEAR!!!!! HowBoutThemVols writes:
Saturday was awful for the Vols and us as fans. But as good as the Gators are, they know it and are overconfident, too. Now, I'm not saying I expect us to win, but you just never know.
There's way too much gloom and doom on these posts. The world hasn't ended. Lane Kiffin doesn't have HIS players in place ... yet. But he will, and over time things will be good; real good!
This coming week won't be as bad as everyone has decided it will be. Florida has to play the best defense (Tennessee) it has played this season by far. Remember how awful we played as a team last year? Even so, Florida didn't score that many points against our "D". They did have a punt return for a TD, but our defense played really well. I expect that again this year.
We know our offense is capable of good play, too. Not at the level of our defense yet, but the offense has players - running backs, receivers, some decent O-linemen. What if Kiffin decides to play Stephens once the reality that Crompton is having too many emotional / mental issues really hits him? Stephens might do very well.
What if we score 17 or 20 offensive points and the defense kicks in 7 more? What if the defense holds an overconfident Florida to only 21 offensive points? After all, this is really Florida's first real game after two scrimmages. I don't feel too bad about this game. We don't have anything at all to lose. Kiffin can let it all hang out. Who knows - maybe we get a score on special teams and we beat a shell shocked Florida while they aren't looking. I'm just sayin'

I agree with you there as well as onevolfan, yabbadabba do? Did all of you guys think we were going to go undefeated? Yes, I did expect us to beat UCLA. But like I said, I expected us to lose one we shouldn't have. Last week was more than anyone expected and we think they will beat everyone like that. We all began the year saying, we are going to give him (Lane) a couple of years. Then we destroy WKU and you through that out the window? Grow up guys. This ain't work like heck anymore.
