Bray was impressive. i thought he moved ahead of Sims. Made a couple of big time throws and no picks. he gains 15-20 by August and wins the job. See if it ain't so!!!

Bray isn't going to gain that much muscle mass in that short of time. You can LOSE that much weight, but putting on the muscle takes more time. I think Bray did better than Simms but I say redshirt Bray and let Simms take the helm. This season is going to be filled with LOTS of growing pains, so don't waste a year of eligibility for Bray on this possible wash of a season.

Couldn't agree more.

Nance might have something to say about that. It is probably a very good idea to redshirt Bray but I've a feeling CDD thinks we need to pull off a win that is going to take Bray to do. It's going to be pretty hard for just one qb to go the full season in the SEC for us given the offensive line. We just don't have enough depth to keep one qb safe all season IMO. Hope I'm dead wrong and one of them shines for us. I want some good tough football and I think our guys can give that to 'em. Again, still curious about Nance!
GO VOLS!!

Don't think we're in position to consider red-shirting much of anyone.

Season will be an iron test of will for both Corch Dooley and we railbirds.

Dooley's job is to stop this sliding trainwreck we've become and get it headed in the right direction.

Man has a mountain to climb directly in front of him. I'm afraid some still don't get the enormity of the Orange's position in the pecking order of college football.

It isn't pretty. We need to back this man to the hilt.

After watching the game I will say that the defense will lead this team this year. The O-line needs to get a lot better & I'm sure they will as time goes on. We've got two stud RB's in Poole and Oku. Bray seems to be the best long term solution at QB. I can't see redshirting him unless Stephens changes his mind and gives the team some depth.

Overall, I think no matter what happens this season, this is a team that will make some noise in the years to come.

Let me see if I have this. Redshirt Bray and hope Simms doesn't get hurt? IF, big IF, Simms wins the job, there is an extreme possibility that he gets injured. Don't see redshirting any QB. Long year, gents. '11 much better.

I couldn't agree with you more, PD.

Real Vol fans should support the staff we have.I saw some positive signs from the O&W game, especially on defense. Tyler Bray made some very good throws and should improve a lot before September and there are some good players coming in this fall.
I still believe 7-5 is possible and I doubt Urban Meyer or anyone else could do any better with the inexperience and lack of depth coach Dooley inherited. Be patient Vol fans.

From what I saw, Bray has the better physical tools and performed much better than anyone I have seen at QB for the vols in the last few years. He was actually hitting the receivers right in the hands on crossing patterns, deep patterns, and he has an arm to deliver deep. I was very impressed with him and I have got to believe he gained some ground on being the starting QB. Simms did not look as good throwing or making decisions. Everyone expects Bray to be the man eventually. If he continues to grow and develop why not get him in there so he has 3 years instead of two because he will probably be gone after 3rd year. I guess red shirting would not be bad but how do you red shirt him with virtually no back up QB on board?

Very good point about the players coming in. We've got a lot of necessary depth that will be on campus this summer. As much as the previous coached bragged about playing freshmen, this is the year we will actually be carrying it out. Personally, I don't think we're as thin as everyone is making us out to be.

Bray did look better than Sims at the game but he didn't have Montori Hughes or Marlon Walls coming at him either. For that matter he didn't have JJ or Myles Jr ball hawking in the secondary.

i agree with you brillo! yes there are some glaring needs on the oline and dtackle but with the young talent coming in and hopefully another strong class in '11 we can really start getting back to where UT is supposed to be... ON TOP!! I think this year is somewhat of a blessing in that all of these frosh playing will really help with the depth of our team for years to come, but we have to live through the pains first. GO VOLS!!!
