Williams or Tatum(if he can get more time on the floor). No way Hobson will EVER take that role... Did you see Williams get in Hopalongs face with two fists full of jersey in the game yesterday? Hopalong's deterioration has been a sad thing to watch.

That's what I'm thinking no one, I know it's not going to Scotty Hopson he sucks I would start him on the Bench next season.

Hopson is the reason there not in the final 4, Hopson is a sad person to watch!!!!!!

I know a lot of us are disappointed with Hopson; But he has played a lot of basketball in 2 years.. What he does in preparation in the off season will be crucial..Now that he is forced into the position of a leadership role; we may very well see a totally different Scotty; I think he's known that this is his destiny and with the help of Pearl he will respond

I really believe Goins will be the man next year to lead this team. He played really well in the tournament. His was relentless defensively and aggressive on the offensive end as well. I have to believe that, although we have some really good freshman guards coming in, Goins will start and play the majority of the minutes at the point.

Will you must be a Hopson fan, Well guess what my friend I'm not and never will be till he shows me differently!!!!

Williams 2 missed free throws earlier made a big difference. He looked all worn out, winded. During the off season, he needs strength and stamina conditioning, as well as practice at the line.
My dos centavos.

Wonder why they decided not to add Tobias Harris to that list.

Looks like the idiots are out in full force. It's not there or thier it's THEY'RE as in "they are". Call the grammar/spelling police! Hopson did play defense, but his offense was pitiful. In fact, I saw his picture on a milk carton last week. Cameron Tatum should have been in at the end of the game.

Find someone who can make foul shots at better than 80% and make them the leader!!!

Scotty Hopson has not played as well as we would all like him to play, but remember he is still a
Tennessee Volunteer!

No sense taking your anger out on him even if he missed two free throws at the end of the game.

My question to all of you that are down on Scotty is, how many free throws have you made in an Elite 8 game with under two minutes to play?

There were a lot of missed free throws in that game. The Vols started 6 for 6 in 3's but finished 1 for 10. How come you are not fussing over those things or the turnovers and poor shot selection.

They all played hard and came up short, we are all disappointed but I'm not going to roast a player over it.

"Other". Certainly not "Charmin Soft" Scotty or "Bricklayer" Brian. How is Steven Pearl even an option?

eldr5#344719 writes:

Once again, MELVIN GOINS will be the man next year. He is by far our best on the ball defender and plays with a ton of confidence. He will be HUGE for us next season!

I am also a Vols fan, and Hopson is clutch, and who cares he missed that last one, if he hadnt made the first one the foul at the end wouldnt have been so critical, and i know all Vols fans loved Scotty Hopson won the game against florida and made that shot against Kentucky to close the deal so shut up fan_vol#1382657!

man its their, their and their so shutup about it.damn

I think Melvin Goins will be the leader. Scotty Hopson was not even highly recruited by other schools because he is more of just an athlete than an actual basketball player. Kentucky didn't even want him until the end and Mississippi State was the only school that really went after him besides us. I hope Tobias Harris comes in and shows everyone he means business

I suppose "other" means Tobias Harris. As much as I like all of these guys I don't see any of them stepping up into a leadership role.My vote is Harris.

That's why I voted other. Three of the top four options were involved in the "incident" and the fourth is Hopson who is too passive (although people are way too hard on him). I hope one or more of those guys really steps up, but I could see someone new come in and be the man.

Chism, Maze, and Prince really stepped up BIG TIME this year - that's what we really want to happen. Don't want to rely on the freshmen too much. It didn't work out in the end for Kentucky.

Was wondering the same thing myself. I look for him to come in and do some big things. He has the size and from all the recognision he has received , he must have the ability.

Stokes44yrs writes:

We'll be better next year no matter who the leader is. I prefer the point to be the floor leader? But Williams will definately light a fire under his team.
Hopson just needs to get mad! He doesn't need to be cool. Get on the weights this summer and quit fiddle faddlin around the basket and throw it through!!!!
Is fiddle faddlin a word? If not then Hopson can fill in the blank________!!

i'm just sick of people downing scotty, and also of how people are downing brian's free throw shooting. i'd like to see some of ya'll out there doing it under the pressure he was under. they made it to the elite eight you idiots. shut up and be proud of them. geez. i'm a tennessee fan, and when a vol fan says that other vol fans are a**holes then there is something seriously wrong.

I voted for Mcbee :) :) :)

volsn3 writes:

I voted Steven Pearl. Now before I get crucified for it let me say this. I have been on his case all year on here. Too much playing time, no offense what so ever, and he is the "son". But after watching the tournament and seeing his season develope I truly think that he can be an inspiration to this whole team kinda like Dayne Bradshaw did for us. If he works on his game and really goes at it as hard as he possibly can it might make guys on the team, (HOPSON< WOOLRIDGE) work harder too. I know that I am going to take a hit for this vote but the kid played his all for TENNESSEE. Just think if the whole team was on the same page.

kti5783 writes:

I voted other based on Harris, Golden, McRae, Maymon, and anyother new recruits. . .
Harris looked REALLY good to me in what I saw of him in the McDonalds All-American game. I thought I read an article where it said that Harris was going to be the face of the program for the next couple of years.
Out of the players returning that are candidates on the quiz Brian Williams makes the most sense from what I've seen.
Scotty NEEDS to step up and become the leader. It won't look to good to recruits if Pearl gets a top 10 McDonalds All-American and does nothing with them.
Goins is the PG, and will naturally be one of "the leaders", just not "THE LEADER".
Tatum's shown alot of fire since coming back from the suspension. He could eventually step into the role of "THE LEADER" if he continues to develop.
If Pearl is ever "THE LEADER" we are in trouble. He is good in his role as "a spark" with his hardnosed play.
McBee? He might have played his way out of a scholarship next season and he's an option for leader? That's just ignorant.

537081 writes:

Sure we need leaders but if not for guys like Pearl and McBee were would we be????

Bruce will lead us as he has since he has been here

with all these expert opinions, why bother cheering for the team if all you have is negative remarks?

jakethevolguy writes:

From what I saw of Cam Tatum this year I believe that he will be the one to step up and lead this team next year. Second choice is Goins. I like Williams but I believe he is too laid back.
