The only answer is Tennessee. The Vols beat UGA, Carolina, Missouri, Kensucky, and Candy. Florida could be a loss because of the previous week's trip to Oregon. But either UGA or Carolina will knock off Little Willy Muskrat. The Vols play Bama in December at the Georgia Dome!! WoooHoooo

Looking at schedules S.C. HAS THE BEST CHANCE TO WIN THE EAST.FIRST THEY ONLY HAVE TWO TOUGH GAMES FLA AND GA If they beat one of them they will win it. And they play FLA at home and they don't play any tough teams in the west side. Now FLA has GA-S.C.at S.C. and at LSU
GA has S.C.and LSU at home and FLA in JAX.
But S.C. HAS THE BEST CHANCE TO WIN IT they lost two games on the road last year. Ga won it last year as they also only has two tough games and they lost one of them to S.C. but beat FLA and won it...

THAT WOULD BE AWESOME ! I hate to lose to Florida but, if UT won the EAST it would dull the pain, if UT could pull out a win against Bama for the SEC championship I would ish my pants. GO VOLS !

Whoaaa guys...I love my vols as much as anyone else but you gotta pump the breaks and take progession one step at a time. Making a bowl would be an acceptable goal for this season. I would realistically put the odds of us winning the SEC East at about 15-1. Georgia in my eyes is the best overall team in the east

What the HELL are breaks?

i'm giving the nod to south carolina. never thought i would say that one. spurrier is a good coach. not a good fit in the nfl, but good in the college game.

Coach BJ has been preaching offense, offense, offense. We must not cling to unrealistic expectations. This is the SEC country where defense and favorable scheduling rules (Bama last three years). Now, Georgia is good they bring back a stellar offense again. But as Richt as the head coach they have not been able to get over the hump of the SEC championship game. But South Carolina where the "ole ball coach" resides has really good chance to win the east and a realistic chance of beating whomever comes out of the west. Plus besides a good defense South Carolina has a mobile quarterback which we all know is the ex-factor needed to beat Saban when your team matches well with him (i.e. Newton Auburn, Manziel Tex A&M, and let's not forget about Tebow). You will not beat Bama playing their style of ball, you have change it up on them!!!

And... here we go again with FAN unrealistic expectation. The Vols are still in the rear view mirror to Georgia, Florida and South Carolina. This will change in the years to come. But this team isn't built to make that jump this season. Beating Vandy and UK will take major effort.

I voted for the Vols. I don't have to be realistic if I don't want. We're undefeated so far and I hope it stays that way. Go Vols

The state of Tennessee would smell bad suddenly. Then we'd smell like Bama always does. But we'd be NCs and no one would care.

^^^ good post huntin' ed!

I agree. Until we see how CBJ takes to it, Spurrier is the better game day coach on any given Saturday than pretty much anyone else in the SECe (or all of CFB for that matter) and that includes Mark Richt. An uninjured Jadevon Clowney will have a lot to say about these games too. Even if he's effectively double teamed, that will free up other C.O.C.K's defenders to disrupt. The building (not re-building) Spurrier's done for the C.O.C.K.S program since 2005 (8th year now) has taken them to competing for the SECe crown which was unheard of in mah younger years.

One site (SDS) lists SC as having the #10 SOS in the SEC with UGA #8, and they say SC "has the easiest schedule of any of the SEC powers."

I'm with you. SC can take the SECe.

Per Saturday Down South the #1 & 2 most difficult SEC SOS is owned by Arky and LSU of the West. Followed by SECe #3 KY, 4 TN, 5 FL, 6 AUB, 7 MissSt of SECw, 8 SECe UGA, 9 SECw Ole Miss, SECe 10 SC, 11 Vandy, & 12 Mizzou. Hmmm ... #13 is TAMU and dead last is Bama at #14. (Wunner who'll be in the SEC CG). Four of the top half of the most difficult SOS in the SEC is owned by the SECe, but neither UGA or SC are in it. FL's SOS could well bite 'em in the butt.

OutkickTheCoverage calls the Dawgs & C.O.C.Ks game a tossup. I see it as a tossup between SC and UGA for the SECe, and I give that to the Ol' Ball Coach.

CBJ & Staff may well have coached up this years team so that our own players have something to say about which team "Rises to the Top"! The Vols are a trap game for UGA coming off LSU the previous week, while Tennessee can use South Alabama as a scrimmage for UGA.

I'm going ahead and saying that GA may be the best team in college this year and they're my early pick to win it all. I think my Heisman prediction goes to Boyd from Clemson. I would love to see a Clemson vs. Georgia, or a Oregon vs. Georgia championship. I just don't want to see Bama win it again. I live near the border and I'm sick of hearing from their retarded fans!

I'm hoping that we can whoop up on FLA this year, get 7 regular season wins, and snag a bowl victory. Is that realistic?

RockyMtnVol writes:

I am not a coach, but I wouldn't not risk all to beat Oregon if it places our SEC schedule at risk. Oregon would be a great team to earn valuable experience for younger players........just saying.

Go Vols!

Yeah! Gimme some of that kool-aid! GBO!

Look at all the people that voted for Tennessee. Lol, that is somewhat a little unrealistic, you think? I think South Carolina continues their streak of beating Georgia and destroys Florida, giving them the east this season.

6 wins would be good year and 7 totally unexpected. Anyone picking the VOLS to finish above FL, SC and GA are just plain dumb! SC was the best team last year with a horrible road schedule and this year its favorable for them. SC wins the division. We are still 2 to 3 years away I Hate to admit. Hopefully we can pull off and SEC upset and revenge Candies win!

UT 12-0. AND I'M NOT DUMB! Remember winning the NC after Manning was gone. Ya gotta have a little D and a decent running game and a decent QB that can throw and run.

We don't got none of those things but 12-0 BABY!!
