Absolutely not Bama. I did think it would be cool to see Auburn play for a championship that they didn't buy. Cam, I hope your daddy's church pews are still full.

I care about the Tennessee Vols...and what is good for the Tennessee Vols. Teams in our own backyard, who we are recruiting against, stacking up championships DOES NOT help us. When are you people going to realize that?

The last 7 National Championships have been won by an SEC School other than Tennessee....what has that done to help Tennessee? How has our program fared over the last 7 years?

I just don't get this "My team isn't good enough to be in the title game....so I'm going to root for the guy that just beat my butt....that way he can get bigger and stronger and harder for me to beat"

Open your eyes. If you are a Tennessee fan there is NO WAY you should be rooting for Auburn in the Title game.....NONE. Auburn winning makes them stronger and FSU weaker. We want EXACTLY the opposite of that. We compete in our backyard for the same kids with Auburn. FSU competes in it's back yard for the same kids with Florida. WE WANT FSU TO BE GOOD.

I personally will be rooting for every single SEC team that plays in a bowl game to loose....and loose BIG....ANYTHING to make them look bad in the eyes of the recruits we are competing with them for. Remember....we only have the #2 recruiting class committed....signing day isn't till February....A LOT can happen between now and February.

Go Vols!!!!!!

How's that $ helping us when Neyland is empty. What about our Donations , ticket sales, merchandise? How about all those contracts we have to buy out because our coaches cannot beat those teams you are rooting for! Do you vote for one candidate and root for their opponent because they live in the same district? Do you root for Iran/China /Russia to prosper so we might have a better economy, even if it means losing our freedom? All the SEC IS GETTING THE $, plus their bowl $ etc. Why are we having this discussion? Would you root for a SEC TO BEAT TN to play for the National Championship? How about to become bowl eligible? You know TN would get a few extra $s while losing much more because of the loss of direct revenue associated with winning!

NEVER for Alabama, period. Florida sometimes. Auburn deserves it for having to put up with the Alabama morons 365 days per year. I would never be for Ole Miss, but that's a moot point since there's no way on earth they will ever make it to a BCS game.

Winning and being in the Championship conversation keeps momentum for the conference, and every team profits financially and by association with the trend and momentum. While I recognize the concern over competing for recruits, I also know that we have some very good coaches now who can sell the merits of Tennessee over the other schools. So yes, it does make sense to root for the other schools while we are down -- we won't be down for long and then they can root for us. There is mouthwash and nausea medicine for the rest.

You need to change your name to SEC man.

I'm on the ground with my cousin with his foot across my chest holding me down in the mud while he enjoys celebrating the victory... so I will root for him to get stronger AND hope HE will root for me to if I ever get off the ground because he is family and it makes me look good to! Great reasoning people.

Guys the great recruiting will end soon without beating the teams you keep rooting to win and get stronger. Guaranteed. Did 80's 90's FSU , Miami, recently Louisville suffer when they were playing nobody.. . They became what the media thought they were and told the nation that they were better than the SEC. We know what happened when thry played SEC teams... but most of the time they never had to. Countless bogus National Champions made because of a week schedule and the schools got richer and better because of the ridiculous difference in strength of schedule. How many times was Miami/FSU Oklahoma/Texas Mich/ ohio st Notre Dame whomever billed as the game of the year and the winner thought to be king of kings when in truth neither team had played anybody with talent like 85 Sugar bowl/ 98 BCS GAME AND ABOUT ANYTIME Miami or OHIO ST HAD TO PLAY A SEC team. We could be 9-3 8-4 playing in a bowl game if we had a reasonable schedule this year like many of this year bowl teams. I bet BAMA/ AUBURN/ FLORIDA/VANDY GEORGIA ETC ARE HOPING WE GET BACK TO THE EARLY 90'S SO THEIR PROGRAMS CAN REAP THE BENEFITS OF OUR SUCCESS!!!!! I BET THEY WOULD EVEN SEND US SOME $ IF THEY THOUGHT IT WOULD HELP US GET BETTER BECAUSE WE ARE MAKING THEM LOOK SO BAD!!!

YEAH I WANT TO STAND NEXT TO THE BEST BUILT GUY ON THE BEACH BECAUSE IT WILL MAKE ME LOOK GOOD TO. ILL PARK MY CAR NEXT YO THE DETAILED LEXUS BECAUSE PEOPLE WILL LIKE MY OLD DIRTY CAR BETTER!

THIS BOILS DOWN TO SINCe TN CANNOT BRING ME HAPPINESS AUBURN/ALABAMA Etc can . ARE WE REALLY AT THAT POINT?

Yea and Hamilton wasted the money on NFL type seats while screwing the long time fan and family. UT fields less athletic teams in SEC competition than our peers.
More money hasn't helped Tennessee win anything, look at the state of every team except the Lady Vols BB.
The athletic department has no savings and is barely solvent.
Watching our rivals succeed is only emptying the stadium faster.
Get back to me next year when the Vols finish 4-8 watching our rivals play in January!

No other leagues have the majority of fans rooting for their rivals. Doesn't help. Games won on the field do.
