It's possible but not likely. The talent is there but I have yet to see SEC type of coaching.Like Dooley,Martin is a division 2 type of coach.Just my opinion.

The offense is stale and unimaginative and the defense is not good enough to make up for the lack.

I might add that while Stokes has proven to be a steady and solid performer he is certainly not the program maker we were led to believe he would be and Hubbs looks, so far, even more over-rated. He is young, and it is early, but the early returns do not look promising.

Energy...the problem with this team is energy...good teams know how to start fast and finish fast...they play their guts out the final 5 minutes ahead or behind...this team has no leadership on the floor. When they play with urgency they are a really good team and when they don't they are average at best.

Why is there not a hell no category on this poll?

No, because of the following three reasons: coaching, coaching, coaching

Cuonzo doesn't seem to realize his job is on the line every game. If UT does not make NCAA tournament, he does not deserve to remain the UT coach. His teams lake fire and urgency. If you cannot make 3's, don't shoot them. Why can't Stokes or Maymon jump? Where is the penetration? Who is the next coach? I think Greg Marshall would do well.

We could of had Marshall the last go round is the sad part. :-(

Didn't Mike Hamilton hire Martin, too? If so, why would his failure be a surprise. Heck, if he succeeds it would the surprise as everything else Hamilton did was destructive to UT men's athletics.

Coach Martin, you've got the talent on the floor and we're seeing that we don't have the talent on the bench - that's you CCM.

Loosen the reins on this team and they can get to the tourney. Play 94 feet and dictate the tempo instead of allowing other teams forcing us to play their tempo. This team must win the rest of the games they are supposed to win, starting with NC State if they want a chance to get to the dance.
