This is where the trolls expose themselves!!! You can tell exactly how many of them are on here simply by adding up the votes of the last 3 categories!!!!!

You're correct sir. 5 trolls and 76 usernames.

2014...#1 recruiting class. Sweet.

Success early in recruiting is important to keep the momentum going. Even if some bail out, I don't see us dipping below 8th with rivals.com. Coach Jones knows what it takes to bring them in and win. I was highly skeptical when they hired him, but I feel a whole lot better about it now. Look at Auburn, they're not even in the top 25 in recruiting as of now and they though Malzahn would bring them like cheese to mice. Could be a short stay for Gus.

However, the season hasn't even started and my optimism may be short lived. I want to see this team against Oregon. I want to see us fight like mad dogs on every play against a team that is likely more talented than us. That's something Dooley could never get the guys to do. The mark of a great coach is pulling out an upset or two in a season like this one. I expect Coach Jones to upset someone...like an unprepared Florida. I want to see us whoop up on Auburn, Vandy, and Kentucky. I won't cry in my beer if we lose to Alabama, but we need to win the games we SHOULD win and pull at least one over that we shouldn't.

Wont help us one bit in the 2013 season. Love it for future years. All I care about for this season is a winning record and a bowl game. A team that plays like a team and fights to death. One upset this season would be a bonus. This season is where we see what kind of coach Jones and his crew are. Is he able to get more out of them and will them to win the close ones and I do think we will have a number of close games this fall. Go Vols!

Even with commits from the likes of Malone, Booth, Hendrix, and/or others that are expected to commit here, we probably won't move past #5 come NSD, according to 247. The same commits could lock down the #1 spot on Rivals, however. I refuse to take ESPN recruiting seriously due to their refusal to rank JUCO players, which is just ridiculous. Back to the point, we would have to land another 247 5* to lock down a top 5 spot, which would be a big surprise since our closest shot at a 5* is probably Clifton Garrett from IL, who is almost a lock to LSU.

I guess I am a troll since I think that UT's recruiting will end up between 11th and 20th. I base that on the fact that such a relatively small percentage of their commitments, so far, are rated as 3 stars or lower. My opinion would change if the all of their remaining commitments have 4 or 5 which, frankly is nearly impossible. That being said, I hope that all they are which, if they are, UT will have had a very successful recruitment, regardless of their overall ranking.

If I am a troll because of this opinion, I guess I am also a troll because I predict a 6-6 season, with an outside shot at 7-5. If that is true then the definition of a troll is someone who faces reality.

I guess the media could spend 2 days asking Vandy about rape and A&M about the Manning Academy! It will be interesting to see how much time is spent on those 2 subjects and if James Franklin or Johnny Manzeil goes off on them!

I'm stunned about what Coach Jones has been able to do so far.

Go Big Orange!!

AL, LSU, GA, and FL will have better recruiting rankings in February but UT will be in the top 15.

I think you're spot on...

Johnny Football might get a little edgy. Franklin won't.

Are you new to understanding the game of football and recruiting? You are obviously a troll who is threatened by the Vol Nation or you wouldn't be on this site! It's a long way until signing day, top 5 is very possible. No worse than top 10.

BluezVol writes:

In terms of a lousy 2013 and recruits for 2014...don't you just imagine that the coaches have thought that far ahead and "undersold" 2013 as a rebuilding year and are probably saying something like 6-6 or maybe 7-5? It is EXACTLY for that reason (mediocre season) that they want these kids to give them early playing time. If I were the head coach, I certainly wouldn't leave my 2014 class up to the my results on the field in my very first year. JMHO

His team, however, is ranked outside of the top 20 and is behind Vanderbilt. Meanwhile, in-state rivals Miami and Florida State are killing it. Muskrat just doesn't have what it takes (although he's pretty good at having players who get arrested).

We should be around eight after the dust clears the air. Bama is going to have their pick of the litter and GA and FLA will end up climbing in the polls as well. CBJ knows this year will be an uphill battle, and I'm sure he has made the commits aware of that as well. Looking for a 6-6 season with a very low tier bowl. An upset against SC or GA will make my day.
