Biography
Hoyt Canady, a native of Savannah, Ga., moved to Knoxville in 1973 and began working with the News Sentinel in 1979. He has been a reporter, copy editor, community news editor, and assistant city editor. He has been editorial page editor since 1989. He served in the U.S. Army from 1967-71. He is married to the former Marilyn Loyd of Macon,Ga. They have two grown children and one grandchild.-
