Biography

Jigsha Desai has been with the News Sentinel since October 2002 — joining the organization as an online producer. She was previously the online editor where she worked with the online producers and other members in the newsroom to keep knoxnews.com updated with breaking news, witty blogs and compelling news videos and multimedia. She became visuals editor in February 2010, and works in print and online covering video and photo. She was named digital managing editor in November 2012. Jigsha left Knoxville in March 2013 after she was hired as digital director at the Naples Daily News in Naples, Fla.

Jigsha, who is of Indian descent, grew up in Zambia, Africa, and moved to the United States in 1998. She became a U.S. citizen in June 2005 and now refers to herself as a Zambian-Indian-American.

Others refer to her as "the web goddess."
