Did he really say "gas shortage" ??? That is an insult to our collective IQ; the gas situation didn't even factor in until yesterday afternoon. Anyone who had a long drive to Knoxville and had tickets would have already been on the road before this was a factor.

THIS IS THE DEAL FOLKS: Observations from Eliz. TN
1. Crompton is slower than my grandpa (who has been dead for 20 years). He is a serious detriment to our team. Actually makes me pine for the days of Casey Clausen!
2. 85000 in attendance is a joke and should be a wake up call.
3.Our running offense had better be at its best next week, you know FL is going to key in on it and make Crapton beat them.
4.The UCLA score is a killer-from a mental standpoint.
Granted, I attended ut from 1997 through 2001, so I tend to hold UT to a pretty high standard, but why can we not recruit a decent QB? Ainge was mediocre at best and crompton would be 2nd or 3rd on either GA or FL!

On Hamilton explains reasons for charging students for football tickets

OK OK we all know that on average frat dudes do in fact suck, are rich helpless little elitists and pay for their friends and are a huge pain when they are in large numbers at fball games (get one alone for a fight and its a different story :>) )
However this is not a great idea and comparing the financial situations of students to wealthy donors is absurd, plus, its mostly their kids that attend UT so it's a wash anyways. Their were a few of us low or middle class kids like me at UT who had to work on campus, be an RA work for KUB or something else to help with expenses, but we did it. I do agree with the readers' view on this grandfather clause and its need to be removed and have these people pay up!

For once I agree with a Memphis B-Ball fan. Well said, zap, that we should enjoy what we have in front of us. Note to all vol fans: youre going to have to play good teams in the NCAAs and this sets up a potentially awesome match up against NC in the sweet 16 in Charlotte, where vol fans can actually attend. I don't like the we're all bummed attitude. Yeah it kind of stinks but UM is in a tough bracket as well. They might have to play Texas in Houston (correct me if im wrong). So all we have to do is beat american and butler to make it to the regionals? And then have some awesome games wit Louisville (if they even make it) and UNC? We need to get that "no respect" mentality back. We seem to play better as underdogs!! Go Vols!

not stupid, Im guite intelligent actually-just didn't want to get any racial crap going on...you can't say that Howell's play lately merits any playing time and if he weren't everybody's friend, we would be grilling him on these boards.

I don't think we can keep defending Howell cause he's a nice white kid anymore. (im white by the way)

BTW,
Did the U of T really start charging the kids for tix this year, and if so what is the fee? When I was there it was called an activity fee or something to that effect. Do other SEC schools do this now?
On Hamilton on why only 98,205: gas shortage, hi-def
