Funny to me how the Tigger fans like to visit this site and I haven't seen a Vol fan post on a Tiger article in the CA in a long time. That should tell you who's obsessed with what the other program is doing and which fan base could care less.
Understand this. Unless you're in the SEC, we really don't care what you're doing or who you're signing. Memphis is just another non-conference game and is only relevant the day we play you. (And you should consider yourselves lucky that Hamilton schedules you.) Past that date, 99% of us lose interest.
You still have that time out to call should you need it.

On White Station's Hall visits Kentucky, still considering UT, Memphis

Source on Massie passing 23 hours was the Commercial Appeal at the time it happened. I'm sure the 23 hours was legitimate and just loaded with Chemistry, Calculus and the like. (Wink, wink.) As I recall, that 23 hours was passed after he'd been at Memphis for a year and not after he came out of junior college. His academic performance in his first year at Memphis was so abysmal, he had to pass the 23 hours before he was eligible for his last season.
Don't care what the minimum ACT score is. Those minimums are for the UT system which will get you into UTM or UTC. That means squat nowadays when it comes to Knoxville. The incoming freshman class at Knoxville averaged over 26 last fall with an average 3.6 GPA. And, as noted, they turned down 4000 applicants. A number of kids that I know ended up at Memphis because they couldn't get into UT. That tells me all I need to know about who has the toughest academic requirements.

Watermelon, I am crushed. Holier than thou? Not hardly. Realistic? Absolutely.
But feel free to continue with the meaningless commentary and lame jokes if you like under as many names as you can think of. Already stated my position and it still stands. Waste of time unless you were one of the ones that Hamilton consulted. (And we know the answer to that one, don't we?) Yours, nor mine, nor anybody else's opinion on here means jack s--- when it comes to this situation.
Now I'm done. Carry on.

Some of you have asked why Memphis fans would bother coming on a U.T. site and waste our time. I've tried to give you guys a feel for the petty nature of Tiger fans when it comes to U.T. and what Vol fans down this way have to deal with. I just don't think some of you understand the depth of their obsession and maybe this will help. From a letter to the editor yesterday in the Commercial Appeal:
"For years, I've been subjected to walking out each morning of my life to pick up my daily newspaper, wrapped in a University of Tennessee orange plastic bag. Imagine my surprise and delight one recent morning when there on my yard lay a University of Memphis Tiger blue bag containing my Memphis hometown newspaper."
Then the guy said he and his wife agreed they should keep the blue bag. I don't believe I have to say much else. If you have very little else to hang your hat on, small things excite you I guess. And they say they aren't obsessed with Tennessee? Please. If an Orange bag on your newspaper sends you into depression, what else can you call it?

Not even going to waste time reading all these. Doubtful that there was any new commentary from anybody anyway.
No more discussion of Fulmer's job status as far as I'm concerned. I doubt Phil will be there at the end of this contract. If he gets tired of the job, they'll find some ceremonial position in the department for him at some negotiated figure and he'll step away gracefully. If the situation goes south, the big money will have to buy him out and that'll be it. Not much sense in beating that dead herd of horses again so I'm going to leave it alone.

Nope 55. The last I heard he was working this summer as Finebaum's cabana boy.

What? No answers on Chris "Einstein" Massie? I thought not. Twenty three hours in one semester. Classic.
Is there baloney in Memphis? Does a wild bear ---- in the woods? That's as certain as death and taxes. (And I'm not talking about the BBQ baloney sandwich at the Interstate BBQ.) Oscar Meyer should be based in Memphis.

itsme, do you really want to compare academics when your department helped that noted Rhodes Scholar, Chris Massie, to pass 23 hours in one semester in order to be eligible? Don't even bother with the pseudo-intellectual B.S. when Memphis allows junk like that to go on. Unless you are Duke, Stanford, or Vanderbilt, you got nothing to talk about.
Also, you sure don't want to start comparing the academics overall at UT and Memphis. In case you weren't aware, UT rejected about 4000 applications in each of the last two years due to academics that weren't good enough to get into school. Guess where a fair number of those had to go because they couldn't get into Knoxville. Go ahead, take a shot at it. You know who it is.

I would say Lofton is more similar to Jannero Pargo
than Derek Fisher. Fisher is a natural point guard.
And let's not get into Stromile Swift's NBA career. Talk about a colossal waste of talent.
Why is Prince doing so well in the NBA where Ron Slay didn't? One word. Defense.

Got to give 'em credit. Overratedtigger and his little buddy (itsmepooh) keep visiting with irrelevant opinions. I mean really. Who could possibly care what a Memphis fan thinks about an athletic program that is in a different universe than they are? Please. You know exactly who "little brother" is in this state whether you want to admit it or not. Always has been. Always will be.
Let's see now. U of M math lesson....Seven is greater than twelve and one is greater than twenty-three. Yep, that must be it. With that type of math understanding, one would think they would have to be superior.
THE_VOL, I wouldn't waste my time if I were you. You're dealing with a fan base that revels in "close".
On UT's 'Solution' is a-Maze-ing ... but for real
