Thanks David. Our sentiments as well. We need a fresh approach.

What cracks me up the most is these people posting here that think this is our fault.
Thats right, "we" got rid of Fulmer. Yes it was us 50 that have posted so far. Our opinions have some serious milage apparently.
Economic conditions are what did Fulmer in. He was coaching in a different era on a different landscape. Take away the history, tradition, orange jerseys and you are left with a business. Plain and simple people. A business.
I could work an my company for years doing a adequate job. Hell I may even have had the best year in company history that I was responsible for. However lately the economy and my own complacency have resulted in me underperforming. My bosses are starting to notice. They told me to shape up. I tried but it is getting more difficult to do my job today than in the past. Must be stronger competition. I am way down right now in results. Hold on, my boss is calling me into their office.
This scenerio unfolds daily across America. Live with it.

My self-imposed hiatus from posting on this forum is now over officially.
I will be at homecoming this weekend and plan on wearing a "thanks Fulmer" shirt. The boy has deserved it and I appreciate him not making this messing for the University and the spirit of the Tennessee program.

but do you have anything important to add?
In any event, I am ready for some basketball. UT needs to pull a rabbit out of its hat and pony up some cash for a winner. I don't care if it is Saban-like amount of money, lock in a good/proven coach to take over the program. This is a very proud and wealthy program that deserves the best.
Come on Hamilton, put another feather in your cap with a great football hire!

I hear Fulmer is supposed to have a big announcement at half time! Don't leave yet!

Freakin horrible.
Although I will still be at Neyland next Saturday for the first game of Fulmer's Farewell Tour.

Its awful quiet up around these parts. I love it when these people up here can shut their yappers.
Lets get this group hired and get down to business.
On Assistant hired: UT gets running backs coach Drayton from Florida

Yeah you can't beat him down completely. For his career, Hefney has been as solid as they come and I would feel confident in having him in my secondary (if I were a coach that is).
You also must realize that Jonathan had limited physical ability and must have known as much when the likes of Berry showed up last summer. Berry will end up being a first rate position player (as we all knew he would) and that has overshadowed Hefney's accomplishments on the field. Jonathan quietly assumed his role and helped solidify our defense while tutoring Berry.
He will be missed.

Can't do much worse than this year so really any improvement is "turning the program in the right direction".
Plus, if Hamilton makes a hire with some "wow" factor, the staff might be able to get some kids to switch before the signing deadline from other schools. I would have to believe that these kids know we will go after the best coach money will buy and a name that is relevant to them so they are curious as to who it will be.
