Joe, if that's true, this kid may not make it through one season here.
Bleedorange: Thanks for the link. You express my concerns precisely.
Time will tell with Bobby Maze. Loud-mouthed, disrespectful, wannabe-gansta punks generally do not do well as University of Tennessee athletes.
I hope all his pre-press is wrong.

This is surprising. I've been to that museum and it was fantastic. Extremely well-organized and interesting every step of the way. Bummer.

No apologies and I hope I'm wrong about this kid. I probably am. But I've seen too many athletes full of ME come through our sports programs (e.g. Kelly Washington, Jamal Lewis, et al). The team always came second behind their narcissism.
Like I said, I'm probably wrong about Bobby. But his media persona thus far turns me off.
Regardless, I trust BP implicitly and don't think he'd bring another K. Washington to Knoxville.

Man, I sure hope this kid can play point because I sure don't like him, based on what I've read since he committed.

STUPID poll. Many of these guys are worth what they're being paid -- not just one.
On Poll: What SEC coach is worth the money they're being paid?

ARE YOU READING THIS, COLQUITT???

DA4BIG -- you obviously don't get college sports, the underlying pride of a major sports program, or the impact an icon like Pat Summit has on a program.
If you were an AD with your stated philosophy, your programs would quickly go into the tank, no question about it. They would lose money for one simple reason: they would lose games because you would (quickly) lose the coaches who win.
I also challenge your claims about Pat's compensation. She makes 70 percent of the gross revenue women's basketball brings into the university?
The article states: "With bonuses, Summitt will receive at least $1.65 million for 2008-09." And you are claiming that that $1.65M is 70 percent of the entire gross revenue of the University of Tennessee's women's basketball program?
Where did you get your business degree? Florida or Alabama?

VOLS85 -- you remember that too, eh? That's what I meant by immaturity on the court. He shamed me as a Vol a couple of times on national television with his obscenities and playground juvie attitude after having a foul called on him.
I really do hope to see a new Brian Williams this fall. All a part of growing up.

For me, jury is still out on this kid. His game is not even good yet.
He lacks maturity on the court when he gets his minutes, he's very foul-prone, he's not a leaper/shot blocker or intimidator, and he doesn't seem to be a banger/glasscleaner inside (e.g. compare his RBs/minute with Chism's).
Maybe he needs to work on these things instead of worrying about some (unearned) nickname.
Yes, he's got a couple of moves. But far too often he just seems to be taking up space in the middle on his way to quick foul trouble.
Best thing to happen to him will be Jurick breathing down his neck for minutes. Maybe BP will have both of them sit down and watch film of a guy named Moses Malone ... if they really want to learn how to play center.

Tyler and Wayne and maybe B. Williams need to take Maze out for a little walk in the woods.
Can anyone say RODMAN Maze?
On UT's 'Solution' is a-Maze-ing ... but for real
