One big thing that's being left out about Paterno.
The guy is paid about 25% of what Fulmer is paid, plus he still seems to care.
He's passed 80 but he has more passion than Fulmer has showed in the last 8 years.
In all of these beatings, not once have I seen Fulmer intense and/or angry during the loss. He simply comes to the press room and talks about "working like heck", "getting it fixed", "fighting" and "battling". Oh sure, he'll chew someone out every once in a while, but most of the time he mindlessly claps as another penalty flag is tossed.
I don't expect a coach to go Hal McRae and start shot putting phones after each loss, but dang it man, show us something.

Oh good grief.
Stop throwing Paterno and/or Bowden out there to prop up Fulmer. I've read it on here and heard it on the radio several times.
Those two ARE their programs. They built them from next to nothing. They are the Neyland/Bryant type of coaches for those schools.
Fulmer has burned through whatever equity he had built up in the late 90s.

The fact is that Adams was right when he wrote about the needed change after the B. Colquitt incident earlier this year.

I'm embarrassed as a UT fan and alum to see B. Colquitt out on the field. Flat out embarrassed. This kid is just lucky he didn't hit a HUMAN BEING, instead of a tree stump, a Ford Focus, or whatever hit was he hit.
The interview they just played on him on 990 was even more embarrassing...

And, for what its worth, the main thing I'd like to get from Notre Dame is Jon Tenuta.
Kiffin/Tenuta or B. Davis/Tenuta is a much brighter future IMO...

Yes, I wish UT had gotten Golden Tate. Harrison Smith, not so much. He's in the right place for what his strengths are.
That said, Golden Tate can't catch a ball thrown into the 3rd row or in the middle of the home team's cheerleaders.

And for the record, I'm fully aware of the Randy Sanders experiment.

I find the anger towards Dave Clawson hilarious.
"The offense looks like crap, its the same stuff we've seen for years...."
WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU?
Fulmer's still wearing the headset. This program has had two offensive coordinators since 1980: David Cutcliffe and Phillip Fulmer. I don't think Clawson is allowed to run "his" offense. He was handed the "UT" playbook and told to work from that, IMO...but I'm thinking most of his calls are cut off at field level.
I'm interested to see how this plays out. I think its fairly obvious to all that change is needed.
Will Fulmer resign and not hold the university up for $5 million, or will he have to be forced out? The amount of absolute denial coming out of that program is what worries me.
