dvols, I think he's not at Iowa State because he's a great coach. However, my mind's not made up quite yet on Urban Meyer being the best. Without a doubt, as much as it hurts to say as a Vol fan, he's definitely got a lot of mo' right now... Tebow's predecessor will tell a whole lot about Meyer's legacy. Yes, he is 'in the face' of his competitors, and this play is another example. If there's a chance he'll lose a coordinator or two, he's going to toot the horn that UF is the place to be - can't blame the guy for laying the groundwork to getting more good coaching talent to come in and 'be the next head coaching prospect somewhere else'...

B.J. looks like an upbeat intelligent young man, coming off a positive experience. They might as well put him in and see if he can be a spark.

Hire a lesser-known type...there have to be good young assistants out there that have done solid work at major programs..Or..mid-major coaches that have done very well, like a Brody Hoke at Ball State, for instance. The guy comes in and we are hopeful yet not unrealistic in our expectations (like there would be with a Gruden, Davis or even Leach hire). He then 'earns his keep' - if he wins right off, he's paid with the likes of Meyer, Miles & Richt. If not, we move on to someone else in three years. And the bank ain't broke. This approach seems to have worked well for Georgia, LSU and Florida.

Ball State coach?

Double-edged sword, Berry returning punts, playing QB - that's how GJones got hurt against MsSt - on a punt return. If it were me, I'd be bluffin' with him just to keep Bama thinking. Keep him on D - where he still has a knack for making big plays. At the most, put him back to return punts late in the 3rd qtr if we're in a low scoring affair where his defensive play count is as Fulmer describes.

15% approval rating? Wow..that seems rather high to me. Maybe Fulmer has ACORN out working for him......
On Poll: Would you re-elect Phillip Fulmer as coach of the Vols?

Re Crompton level of play question: Contrary to what everyone thinks, this is a rebuilding year for the offense. New coordinator, new starter at QB. Because of this circumstance, I say the jury's still out on this battery.

I doubt McNeil will feel too bad about that SI pic, especially considering the probability that dirty play was sent his way by the Gators. Hey let's face it - everybody's gonna take their shots at the Vols right now. So if you're ashamed of that pic, get over it and continue to support these guys. Our guys. Hang in there Volunteers!

Assuming the new coach and John Chavis wanted to work together, what is right/wrong with keeping John Chavis on as DC?
On Adams: Through it all, UT defense has excelled
