I don't know all the facts, but it sounds like she was pissed that the "good ole girl" network was crumling before her eyes and some smart alec lawyer thought they could treat this like a hate crime and make a name for themselves.
Money is getting tighter by the day.Hart knows this and he has to do some unpleasant things that will hurt people without a doubt. Take the offer of retirment with bennys and go write part time for somebody.
By money getting tighter, I really mean we have to save up for a new football coach unless Dooley goes about 8-4 this year. And I sincerely hope he does.
reckon he must have been head over wheels in love...yuk yuk yuk
so goes the coach so goes the recruiting. UT will still be on most top recruits list for a while but without a certain tall thin lady UT will become just another school...starting to sound like a trend.
I'm only one lottery ticket away from owning this paper too. :)

seriously? you had to go there?
I believe she is a lady of great faith and she wears a cross around her neck in almost every photo out of basketball garb. If you don't know what I mean by that then I invite you to church this Sunday for an open hearted discussion.

that's almost-a-good thought:)
Brodus to start. IMO
in response to maxvolfan#217855: I vote for a statue of Pat in front of TBA. I picture one of her standing there hand on a shoulder of a player (Glory) just to name one and have that focus stare of coaching a player to be the best she can be.

i'm not sure one statue is enough
in response to Colliervol: Your last paragraph pretty much hit the nail on the head. He was a great head coach---in the 90's---and he didn't forget how to do that. He just got complacent and increasingly stubborn about making changes. And as most of us know, if you ain't moving forward, you're going backwards because your competition is doing everything it can to move ahead. Most people I know respect Phil for his record and for his contributions to UT. Certainly no "hate" in the UT crowd I know. But there is no question that he had to go and the board made the right call.(It wasn't Hamilton. He was just the messenger.) And if you think otherwise, you must have been sleeping from 2005 thru 2008. Phil's problems contributed to this mess but hiring Kibble was the mistake that really put us behind the 8 ball. We are only now starting to see daylight and we shall see if Dooley can get us all the way out (8 wins this fall or else). If not, we'll be hiring another one.

agreed collier. Although instead of being stubborn about change, I'm not sure he knew how to change. The game was passing him by with complex spreads, fast linemen, and athletic QBs. Talent was also figuring out that they didn't have to settle on the same top 15-20 schools to get playing time. Gotta adapt and he couldn't.
Lets face it guys, Holly was Pat's decision, and like her or not she will have the the first chance to follow a legend which is an impossible task. Love you Ms.Pat
Several had said that there was a lot of fat that could have been trimmed, and was. But I will say this, win a couple maybe even 3 more football games and over half these folks still get to come to work on Monday.
Economy smonimy...Seeing the upper south get emptier and emptier last 5 years is directly proportional to layoffs. Football pays for all other sports. always has.
Someone once said, "you can't fix stupid."
How about getting divorced first, then it ain't cheatin'. Then there is no need to lie. Here's your sign.
Anybody notice the swine with the sign on the right? Evidently doesn't go to church.
GBO!
do plan, or not do plan, that is the question
4 score and 7 do plans ago...
me thinks I'll plan to quit now...
slow clap...I can sleep better now knowing that little Ricky is playing nice.
the next call should be to a guy called Gus over at Arky State. Name your price and you start Monday.

...what would Saban do?

if you have Comcast...nope. Time for either ATT U-verse or DirecTV...
but I have a feeling fox and cbs will be fighting pretty hard to get rights for the first half of the season. Ample opportunity for everyone to see him.
Agent Orange....really?

and how many years did the old ball coach take to become competitive at USC???...I'm just sayin'
finding a way to win against a 2-7 team sure beats finding a way to lose to them. It's profound...I know.
ahhhhhh.....his mudda blows bubble gum.
Vanderbilt coach..."pilot to co-pilot...we're going down in flames"
am i the only one that throws up a little when I hear the name Calipari?
I'm beginning to think Kiffin is a bit spiteful in his actions. I mean he really doesn't have a shot at this kid but it does make great fodder for gullible KNS writers. If it's one thing Kiffin knows when he sees it, is a sucker.
Pat's not too involved these days and it obvious. She used to rip girls heads off for stupid and lazy play. Sad to see so many "firsts" with this team.
Kenny Who?

@#$% that's funny!
we can only hope that he is using Kiffin like Kiffin used UT...me thinks he probably is :)
careful...one blowout game isn't a trend
in response to EightLetters: What in the world are you smoking? Getting massacred at Kentucky a fluke?? Are you serious? If anything, Tennessee's win at Florida is the fluke. I truly doubt Kentucky has any fear of playing Tennessee...on any floor. They have a team of uber athletic players that are only getting better and better. If the Vols face them in the SEC tournament, it will be another blowout win for the Cats. Keep your expecations realistic. The Vols are getting better, but they are not Elite like the boys in blue.

you said uber... rhymes with goober
the goal should be .500 in SEC play, and .600 in all games
and no, its not Dooley's fault...it's Fulmer's
Really not as think as you dumb they are. Remember the mind is a terrible thing.
girls are prima donnas too. The smart play is to name the successor and put her under Pat on the bench right now. With the effort these girls are giving it doesn't sound like Pat is spending as much time in the gym as she once did. I don't pretend to know how bad her mental state is or is not but it's just so sad to watch it play out.
i was gonna say something about missing Lance Thompson, but it looks like we don't need LB's anyway. this will be a weak link on D. Lance made very average guys play well above their level.
welcome to the new kid
I hear you coach, but someone has to score too. Last I checked the team with the most points has almost always won.
Keep Bonner on a short leash coach...guys like this usually turn out to be captain of the team or arrested by a captain from KPD. We'll see what kind of man he is.
keep him on a short leash coach
The smart play would be negotiate for half of what he is owed, retire from football, get in the booth for a couple of years, and lets this Dooley thing play out. Consequently he retires a living legend in Indy, gets some of his money, has some great family time while broadcasting, doesn't get hurt or end up like McNabb bouncing around for the next 5 seasons.
Its hard to argue with that.
Santos, wussed out.
guys the news the next few weeks will get worse until camp starts....I'm still waiting on the story of how a sorority takes on the responsibility of polishing the flamer's torch at the circle...
another 5-6 season and Dooley will be gone too. To few people with too much influence from the west box. As long as the admin runs from those folks things will not change. Lets hope this new regime will bring in the right coach and then simply thank the donars in stead of bowing to them.
I don't pretend to know what he was thinking but a bigger question is how does Clemson steal the DC from Oklahoma as a lateral move? Did UT's staff not know he was looking around?
Stokes is good. Lets hope others continue to elevate their game to keep pace. Nice job guys.
proud of that effort? think again boys.
We cannot have KY tired now can we...
ditto Mannie
