I'm sorry, I just don't understand why Cunningham is taking some of the heat for the blocked punt. The blocking was so poor my 80-year-old grandma could have pushed her wheelchair fast enough to get to Cunningham.

And the "busted assignments" on defense? From what I saw the players executed the calls pretty well. It was the assignments themselves that were the problem.

Slade makes me sick, but to some extent I understand his comments. After all, we're just common yokels that don't understand simple football concepts, like how UT's defensive coaches could sit back and watch a 3rd string QB pick apart of the most talented secondaries in the nations.

At least Fulmer has the grapefruits to admit they should have rolled Crompton out more.

It seems Crompton played better after he was banged up a bit. Maybe he finally got used to the feel of the game at that point.

Let's see...

Monday's game was the worst coached and most poorly executed I've ever seen from UT. Absolutely horrible on almost every level.

That being said, I refuse to give up this early. Do the Vols have tons of improvements to make? Yeah. Will they make them? I have no clue.

Predict doom and gloom all you want. I'm not saying you're wrong, just that things have been worse. One game won't determine the season.

ROAR!!!!!

On Strange: UT 0-3 in SEC by mid-October?

This is good to see. After all he has gone through, I'll be glad to see Williams wear UT orange, even if he turns into a huge bust (which I don't think he will).

Way to hang in there, Williams. Rip some heads off now that you have the chance.

I'm tired of hearing about how great Moody, Demps, and Rainey are when none of them have taken a snap in the SEC. For all we know they may be the Four Horsemen reincarnated, or they may be complete busts. We'll see.

At least wait and see how they produce before crowing them the greatest, fastest, blah blah blah. This goes for Vol fans, too. At least wait until you see Gerald Williams play before raving about his size and hitting ability.

On Harvin, Spikes likely out for opener

All this uncertainty has sure got me ready for Monday! Can't wait to see what it looks like and how it unfolds.

It's almost here. Go Vols!

Semper-

Wow, what they have done with the stadium is amazing. I can't wait to see what it looks like when everything is complete. That place is going to look like a palace!

Early on I expect the offense to go as Foster goes. Crompton will be fine I think, but if Foster has some bad games early on I expect the offense to sputter.

On Foster has the mind of a coach

The guy actually sounds like he may be a good player. This would bother me much more if Cobb went to a school that could actually put some decent talent around him.

Having only one bullet in your pistol doesn't do much good.

On Brooks: Cobb a 3-way player

Fulmer is considering a 3 lineman front on defense?!

He and Chavis must have some confidence in the ends, because you have to have some studs to play only 3 down.

May be a good fit for this defense, and having more speed on the field may help stop the spread also.

DCflorida-
A grown man just posted he has Tim Tebow underwear. Yes, I know (or at least hope) you're joking, but I'm still not sure what to say about that.

I imagine Cottam's leg injury may have aggravated his back. Legs have a funny way of doing that.

Any idea of what Warren brings to the table in terms of blocking? I know he's a threat to catch the ball, but do the Vols lose something in the run game with Cottam not on the field?

On Cottam to undergo back surgery, out six to eight weeks
