Well said, Tenndave. We can all hope Lane's so succesful everyone'll come calling. He'll love Tennessee so much in one year's time he won't want to leave!

I imagine a few "you knows" could be expected after spending two years with professional athletes.
Great first impression Coach. And now that you're in Tennessee, you have to get at least one "git er done".
So GIT ER DONE coach!

Chris Mortenson just reported that Kiffin was on the ground in Knoxville and Monty's coming with him. Mort said that part of the falling out Lane had at Oakland was because he wanted to fire Rob Ryan, their DC, and hire Monty.
Also...this just in from Rotoworld:
Buccaneers Defense-TM- Buccaneers Nov. 30 - 10:37 am et
ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that Bucs defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin is considering leaving Tampa to run the defense at the University of Tennessee.
Monte's son Lane will be introduced as the Vols' new head coach on Monday; Saturday was Philip Fulmer's final game on the UT sidelines. If Kiffin leaves, the Bucs are expected to pursue Rod Marinelli to run their defense after the Lions fire him. The hitch on Monte departing Tampa Bay is that he's under contract. The Bucs extended him through 2009 just last year.

55Vol, It's because Hopson's not official yet. Wait til Wednesday at noon, then go back and check the recruiting ratings.
For those of you who missed the game, it will be re-shown on ESPU on Wednesday at 5:30 and Sunday at 9:30pm.
The announcers were too busy making conversation than actually following the action, so be on the lookout for #30 on the blue team.

CORRECTION:
It won't be re-shown on Saturday...just Wednesday and Sunday.

Who would've thought, three years ago, that we might get to see Jajuan in the NBA one day. Outstanding.
Here's the Portsmouth Invitational link...though not much to see other than boxes:

Rome is Burning...for the Big Orange (don't forget to use your best Jim Rome inner voice):
"Overall I thought the selection committee did a pretty nice job this year in filling out the field for the NCAA tournament, but you can always take exception to some of their choices and this year is no different.
"For instance, how do you give Kansas a top seed over Tennessee? The selection committee says it doesn't place too great an emphasis on conference tournaments, but, it hits the Vols with a two seed and puts them behind NC, who's the number one team overall? I mean, what is that? Tennessee beat both Memphis, a one seed, and Xavier, a three seed on the road. Kansas' best road win came against USC, a number six.
"The Vols played the toughest schedule in the country; Kansas played the 50th. I think the Vols should've been a number one regardless, but, if Kansas' conference title got them their one and Tennessee's loss in the SEC semis knocked them out, then just say it.
"If the conference titles really don't weigh that heavily, then the Vols got jammed.
"Either way it's just one more thing for Bruce Pearl to rally his guys around, and it puts an even bigger bullseye on Bill Self's back, who has had two horrible first round losses with the Jayhawks."
I couldn't have said it better myself.

<<Google Maps tells me that Charlotte is 246 mi from Knoxville – about 3 hours 1 min, if you drive like my wife.>>
It's only 141 miles from Chapel Hill to Charlotte.
WE WAS ROBBED!!!!

How about this scenario (I hope nobody's discussed this yet)...How about Leach to Auburn. Then, we can sit back and watch how the UT and Auburn programs flourish with their new regimes.
I think that would be an interesting comparison. Both teams were 5-7 this year. Hmm.
