Very impressive news conference. I am a whole lot more excited after hearing him than just reading about him.
On Kiffin introduced as UT coach; will make $2 million in 2009

When Coach Fulmer was the offensive coordinator under Majors in the early 90's, we had some potent offensive teams. I still don't understand how we went from those days to where we are now.

When is everyboby going to get the blinders off about why Majors got fired.
1) He could not beat Bama. Majors finished with a 4-12 record against Bama.
2) Majors and Thunder did not get along. Believe it or not but the Power Brokers at UT and Thunder is the biggest, make the decisions as to when to fire and when to hire.
Who is Thunder? Is that Haslam?

I am very excited about the direction that Mike Hamilton is leading us in scheduling significant out of conference games. While many schools choose to beat up on "directional" schools, we are choosing to play some out of conference games that are at a high level of excitment and anticipation.
Of course I hope we win all of these games. But as a college football fan, I would rather play these schools and conferences with a rich history and perhaps lose a few than beat up on some nobody. That doesn't do much for me.

I went to this game with my 11 year old son and 10 year old daughter. We managed to get in for $20 each and had an awesome experience. I remember thinking on numerous occasions that we were about to lose, only to pull out victory. I also remember the Alabama fans being very classy to us after the game - some even congratulated us on the win. Definitely one of the greatest road victories I ever experienced in person.

Interesting article, with at least one factual error. I rember Kevin from his days at UT. Roberta may be the name of his current wife, but Sean came from a previous marraige.

Thanks for the update on McDonald. I was on vacation last week and had not heard about the UNC commitment. Go Vols!

Like everyone else, I am excited about this year's recruiting class. But what I am wondering is - will we have any chance at Leslie McDonald next year? We don't have any scholarships left if everyone returns. I guess BP is planning on at least one or two players turning pro early.

If we do sign Negedu, how many scholarships will be left for next year's class? If I am counting right, that leaves only one definite available(Childress is a senior) and we already have a commitment from Kenny Hall. Bruce must be counting on Tyler Smith and maybe someone else to turn pro early, or next year's class won't be much.

I was somewhat disappointed when Lane was announced as the next coach. But that press conference really fired me up. I thought he did an outstanding job. As previously mentioned, the "you know's" and "OK's" were probably just nerves. I believe he will convince some on-the-fence recruits to jump on board in this year's class.
