It's not as much the coach we miss, he never made a throw or catch. It's the QB who beat UGA three times in three attempts. In 2004 with 'Coach SANDERS', Ainge led us to victory in Athens. Dumb move by not playing him his sophomore year, UGA won.
Ainge led us to victory in Athens again in 2006, mentally tough, amazingly quick release, currently with the Jets!
Ainge led us to victory over UGA in 2007 in Neyland!

It's not 'Sanders' or 'Cut' that led UT to three wins over UGA recently, it was the Quarterback we had at the time!!!
It's always about players!!! Coaches can only do THREE things, 1. decide who's on the field. 2. Call specified timeouts. 3. Make suggestions about what players should try...
"IT'S ALWAYS ABOUT THE TALENT ON THE FIELD, PERIOD!"

On Georgia glad Cutcliffe's gone

How about UGA's "3 straight losses to UT when Ainge started at QB."(2004-there, 2006-there, 2007-home) Two of the three wins came 'Between the Hedges"

Ainge didn't play -v- Georgia his sophomore year after beating them as a Freshman. "Coaches decision", as they wanted Jimmy Clausen to become a VOL!

Such a dumb move it got three coaches fired, created a losing season, not CPF though...

On Georgia didn't forget last two losses

How many times will UGA sack Stephens?

The 'same line' only gave up 4 total, 3 with Ainge, in 14 football games last season.(BEST IN THE NATION!) It seems like the new QB's are "much slower with pre-snap reads" and "slower to get the ball out."

If Stephens can avoid the losses by throwing the damn ball away, we'll get better. YOU CAN NOT TAKE THE LOSS IN THE SEC! The things we took for granted the last couple of years...

We won the SEC East last season, aren't we in 'last place' now??? YIKES...

On Stephens says he can take charge in huddle

Whoever thought UGA 'took us lightly' after the UT win in Athens in 2004 is stoned. I wouldn't mind you sharing your hallucinagen though... (-:

'AINGE GOT THEM IN 2004' (between the hedges) "Won SEC East"
'CLAUSEN 'GOT BEAT' IN 2005'-THE NIGHTMARE SEASON
'AINGE GOT THEM AGAIN IN 2006' (between the hedges)
'AINGE BEAT THEM AGAIN IN 2007' "Won SEC East"

Coach Richt is so glad Ainge is with the Jets so he won't lose his 4th straight game to him. Ainge was undefeated against UGA, two of them in Athens!!

The BIG difference between this team and the '2004', '2006' and '2007' teams, is that Erik Ainge is not the quarterback!

He 'didn't play a down' in the 2005 game, (coaches decision) UT didn't genuinely compete with UGA in the 2005 game. Ainge had 'ice-water in his veins in the 2004 and 2006' wins BETWEEN THE HEDGES!

Oh, there is another similarity with the '2004, 2006 and 2007 WINS over UGA, CPF...

I'm going with 'Ainge graduating', as what makes this game another SEC loss for this crew. J. Mayo is gone too, but UT has made up for him, with our other good players, and the "D" is playing good.

Ainge was 3-0 as the starter -v- Georgia. I don't think Nick has quite the clever savvy YET, to beat the Dawgs... Heck he got sacked by Northen Illinois?

The VOLS are like Jim Carrey in the movie Liar, Liar...

The scene where he's in the toilet room, a guy comes in as carrey in smashing his face against the wall, the mirror etc.
Another man walks into the toilet room and asks "what he's doing?"

Carrey's answer, "I'm kicking my own A&$ OK, I'm kicking my own A&$"

VOLS please stop "kicking your own A&$."

The quarterback position is the toughest and most important decision you must make as a coach! You can shuffle in TE's, LB's, D-tackles, O-tackles; any other position, NOT the QB position.

The disaster in '05 was UT wanted Jimmy C. very badly, so they unconsciously 'Looked' for 'any reason' to bench Ainge, after being 'SEC Freshman Player of the year' and a '2nd team Freshman All-American' & most importantly, 'he had led' UT to the 'SEC East title in '04', by 'getting the KEY wins' over 'Florida', 'Alabama', 'Georgia', 'South Carolina' and 'Old Miss. with Cutcliff', as an 18 year old, very young man!.
I'm not saying do not ever make a QB change, but if you do, you MUST stay with it!! Otherwise the 'Coaching staff is split', the 'players are split', 'the fans and the media are split', the 'players parents get split'...SEASON'S OVER 'if' he juggles QB's!!! again like playing RC in '05.

"Sometimes; maybe too often...
'General CPF' is just to damned slow to adjust, thereby his own 'soldier's abilities to win battles they should, is often jeapordized." eda-2005

But, CPF has always bounced back so far! He learns from his mistakes and back in '06 and '07 he puts Ainge back in as UT's decision- maker, they go on to win 9 and 10 games along with another SEC Eastern title in '07.

Losing Cutcliff, Ainge and Trooper took SO MUCH of the last two years' swagger away. The entire offense is PLAYING SCARED! There is an old saying; "If you are scared, Buy a big dog and tie it around your waist." a nice way to say your guys are playing like p*#sys!!

Grow up and be men. Take responsibility for your errors, correct them, then use all the talent on your roster to go "JUST WIN BABY" There is nothing else!

On Report card: Tennessee vs. Auburn

You know why the W.R.'s don't look as good? Ainge threw absolute strikes. When our wideouts 'had a DB in their earhole', Ainge stuck it in their hands. Even then, too many drops. This year the ball isn't consistantly hitting the 'well covered' receivers in the hands and they're not big enough to 'rebound the pass.' The only receiver I've seen that could 'get separation' lately at UT was Meachem, although not -v- Penn State.
If your 'receivers can not get separation' and the quarterback can't throw 'earhole-covered strikes', and the running game is stuffed...WTH are you supposed to do? Change quarterbacks again? We have the same line, same receivers, same backs, no offense?? Ainge and Cutcliff put together 19 wins in '06 and '07, damned good in the SEC!
Clearly the best conference in the nation...Stephens anyone? Or ride the Crompton? Can't wait too long if JC can't get it together, because it's "Just Win Baby"...

On Fulmer, Danielson disagree ... somewhat

Posted on September 13 at 9 p.m.

JC must 'look off' the safeties! He must be much more disciplined in going through his progressions. No happy feet and must work on a quicker release...
JC, Just keep working, you'll get better.
If not, NS is an excellent alternative!

On Tennessee finds rhythm in 35-3 win over UAB

"Pass protection" begins with the QB! For example; The QB see's that outside-backer coming free on the left side. He knows "he's responsible" for making sure he throws a quick strike, before the backer blows up the play, as he's unaccounted for. The same "O" line basically, and Ainge only got sacked 3 times in 14 games??
He understood how to "cleverly buy time to make the throw, or throw it away." For those who said he was scared, Ainge completed his passes at a 64% level and broke Peytons record with 325 completions in a season, even with the throw-aways and drops! I miss 'Cut' and Ainge big-time.
I wonder if N. Stevens or the kid from Chatanooga, are better wired to play QB, at the speed of the SEC...
"I saw no or very few audibles -v- UCLA? that requires pre-snap reads, they are crucial! Especially when you've discovered their patterns, or signals, or tips given, etc."
That takes great intelligence and instincts, especially at Quarterback!
Go VOLS, figure it out yesterday.
remember,
"PLAYERS MAKE PLAYS, OR THEY DON'T." COACHES CALL PLAYS FROM THE SIDELINE OR THE PRESSBOX. COME ON FOLKS, "PLAYERS MAKE PLAYS, OR THEY DON'T!"

On Vols have urgency to correct mistakes
