Written on Washpun finally cleared:

Good news.

Written on Mike Strange: Colquitts able to give Matt Darr a leg up on punting :

in response to lomas98:

North Carolina had a few players ineligible for a few games last year because a former North Carolina player who I believe played for the Giants flew them up and put them up in a hotel. That was a pro who happened to be a tarheel helping out future tarheels. Not saying this will be an issue, but there are absolutely flaws with the whole system.

It doesn't say the Colquitts paid for anything, they simply let Darr stay with them as he was passing through. No plane tickets or hotel rooms were involved.

Written on Martin's status unknown :

in response to rockytopatl:

One of the most important part of a college head coaching job is to be the chief spokesman for the program. It sounds to me like he needs to improve in that area. Never in modern times has Neyland Stadium has as many empty seats on gameday. More communications with his players and less with the media won't do much to fill those seats.

Until game day gets here, he doesn't know what he has. Every coach wants to feel that they have a good team before the season starts, but you have to play some games to find out how they are going to perform. If we start putting on a show and start winning, the fans will start coming back to the games. It doesn't matter what the media prints, it matters how well we play.

Written on Martin's status unknown :

in response to rockytopatl:

Coach sounds a little cranky, fussing about too much water and claiming not to know anything about Martin. No offense to all those who say Dooley can do no wrong, but it wouldn't hurt him or the program for him to get a little more media friendly. The media is the venue for fans to get news about the program.

Dooley is getting paid to coach, so what if he doesn't feel like talking to the media. The media is going to print what they want no matter what is said. It sounds to me that he would like more communication with his players and not so much with the media.

Written on Ambles signs with Southern Cal:

Glen Stanley is going to USC with him.

Written on Ambles visiting North Carolina :

Scout.com has already taken Ambles off of our commitment list.

Written on Is there another safety valve? Waggner working with Berry :

in response to tennezz:

Witchy what do da bones say about Lamaison? Anyone know what # he is wearing in practice?

Nick Lamaison is wearing #19.

Written on Mattingly: Vols' uniform has been anything but :

I like the throwback white jerseys with the orange across the shoulders.

Written on Pearl gets 9.5 percent raise :

in response to MorristownVOL:

(This comment was removed by the site staff.)

If you don't like it, go pull for another team. Also, you need to take the VOL off of your user name, because you are not "TRUE ORANGE".

Written on Tennessee men’s basketball coach Bruce Pearl’s new contract will pay him $1.9 million for next season. Do you think Pearl is :

I think Coach Pearl is getting what he deserves. All the coaches that make more than him are overpaid.

Written on Report: Heaps headed to BYU:

This isn't a shock. It's not easy for a kid coming out of high school to travel cross country and leave his family.

Written on Adams: Signee not good for UT's new image :

Sometimes you just have to look at the situation. This doesn't seem like a bad gamble to me. This didn't just happen last week or last month, it's been several years. Image or not, this isn't a situation that should bury the team or the coaching staff.

Written on Catholic star gets UT football scholarship despite troubled past:

Sounds like the Victim has forgiven him. I think everyone else should hold judgement and see what this young man can do with his life. Good Luck and God Bless You, Daniel.

Written on Kiffin says UT's offense stuck 'in the '60s' :

We may be playing a lot of Freshmen this year.

Written on Poll: With a week left in Tennessee's spring practice, what are your thoughts about the Vols?:

I think it's great that the fans from all these other teams go to bed and then wake back up thinking about Lane Kiffin.

Written on Mississippi State blocks Vols for SEC title, 64-61:

What's the matter with you people? This team has been up and down all season long. When they win a couple of games everybody is on board and then they get beat and you turn on them like a bunch of wolves. As up and down as they have been, they still made it to the SEC Championship Game. If you can't get fully behind your team, win or lose, then go pull for somebody else.

Written on Hopson's highlight: Vols beat Mississippi State, 81-76:

in response to jhawk628#252090:

Dude, that's Pearl's offense against the zone: penetrate and then kick it out for a three, or drop it to a forward, or take the shot.

It's not pretty.

You can't jump into the air and then start looking around to see if there is someone to throw the ball to. You need to know what direction you're going and either shoot or make the pass. Personally, I think Tyler needs to get rid of that mouthpiece. That thing spends more time hanging out of his mouth than it does on his teeth. I think it has even blocked a few of his shots. (Just kidding)

Written on No hints, but Brown gushes about UT :

in response to holleyab:

first

What did you win for being first?..................Yeah, that's what I thought....You must be very proud.

Written on Close eye kept on Vols despite recruiting distractions:

Will somebody give gatorzz his pacifier so he can go to sleep. Every post he puts on here shows up as the same thing on my computer...Waaaah...Waaaah...Waaaah

Written on UT gets a full Nelson at linebacker:

If you don't like this kid then something's wrong. I can't speak for everybody else as far as being a crowd favorite, but he's definately going to be one of mine. Welcome to Rocky Top!

Written on Tennessee's 2009 signing class:

It looks like we're in good shape on defense and Jackson would just put the cherry on top. Oku would help on the offensive side. I don't think you can have enough RB's because injuries can deplete you in an instant.

Written on Teague on picking Vols: Why not try to help your state university get back on top:

A true Volunteer. Great to have you in Big Orange Country!

Written on WR Stokes spurns UT for Michigan:

You go with what you have and run with it. Celebrate what we have and quit worrying about what we didn't get.

Written on DE Smith, who is likely top player in state, first UT commitment for 2010:

Committed early. Stay strong with your committment and welcome aboard.

Written on Signing day jitters for Vols:

Tim McGee was a WR for UT in the 80's. He played in the NFL for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Written on A look at prospects still considering UT :

Some of you guys act like it's the end of the world if we don't get all of these recruits. It takes time to build trust and a relationship with these young men and we got off to a late start with most of them. Things aren't going to change over night and we may be in for another disappointing season before it gets better. I just wonder how many people will stick with Kiffin and staff if they don't win this year. I think we need to be patient and stay supportive of the team and coaching staff no matter what happens with recruiting or the season this year.

Written on Rebuilding? Not according to Pearl :

The way I see it we are rebuilding, somewhat. We are a lot more inexperienced than we were a year ago and the younger players are going to have to build their confidence as they go. We as fans need to be patient and realize it may take a year for that to happen. It's very hard to watch them lose like this, but it will get better with time.

Written on Strange: Kentucky is moving on up; UT going down :

Don't you just love it when Chism shoots the 3 at the critical times of the games.

Written on Michael out as Vol assistant :

You just did.

Written on Strange: Fans not used to leaving unhappy :

Our younger players are going to have to grow-up fast. We need to take better care of the ball and quit giving up unforced turnovers, and we also missed to many shots around the basket.

Written on Report: Payton relieved Orgeron moving on:

What else would he say about a coach that left his team. I guess he's just mad.

Written on Linebacker could take shot at UT :

It would be a huge victory to pick this guy up. Hopefully the coaching additions will help.

Written on Time off allows Prince to test sprained ankle :

I hope he's able to play.

Written on Poll: What is your feeling about Lane Kiffin's coaching staff so far?:

Well BOV, sometimes change is good, and you just have to be in the right situation.

Written on Poll: What is your feeling about Lane Kiffin's coaching staff so far?:

I hope the team is better, because it can't get much worse.

Written on Sykes to enroll at UT in January:

Welcome back!!!

Written on Vols take tumble in polls:

We just need to get ready for the SEC. The rest will take care of itself as the season goes along.

Written on Vereen named to All-SEC freshman team:

That's pretty good for a former Running back.

Written on West sidelined until eligibility clearance granted :

Hope this doesn't take long.

Written on Poll: What was the biggest factor in Tennessee's 27-24 overtime loss to UCLA?:

Hey workin, do you go to every colume and say the same thing? Since you have already given up on this season, why don't you go to another web sight and complain to someone who cares. If you hate Fulmer that much, lets see if you can do better. What team do you coach besides the one from your couch?

Written on How they scored and statistics:

Fulmer is not the one throwing passes or running the ball. Crompton was off target most of the night and Foster is just as slow as he was last year. I guess that was Fulmer that fumbled on the 6 yard line. It's just one game, so get off his back.

Written on News Sentinel Top 10 in Tennessee, No. 5: Zach Rogers of David Lipscomb:

I seen him play in the State Championship game and was very impressed with his abilities. I think he could help out early if he decides to come here.

Written on UT kept track of UConn's recruiting since 2005:

I don't remember seeing the clock playing anyone. Rutgers had a chance to play us again, but they didn't make it that far. I guess that was the clocks fault too.

Written on Prince undergoes shoulder surgery:

Shoulder surgery isn't going to keep him from working on his footwork. I think he just needs to settle down and play more under control.

Written on UT signee Douglas not shouldering doubt :

That was Inky Johnson.

Written on With two tailbacks hurt, Foster getting lots of work:

Rogan was recruited as a RB and DB, but was put at DB because of the dept we had at RB. I believe he would turn some heads if they gave him a chance to run the ball. I watched him all through high school and he always came up with big plays. He is a natural RB and when he runs the ball he makes cuts that are effortless and leaves DB's shaking their heads. I know college and high school are two different levels, but I would like to see him get a chance to run the ball.

Written on With two tailbacks hurt, Foster getting lots of work:

Give Dennis Rogan a chance.
