Louisville.
in response to Ironcity: I agree 100% with what you said. As a UT fan we really needed him to be good if not great. What I am starting to wonder is what made Hamilton (I know he was a horrible AD)pick Dooley? Their just was nothing in the resume that suggested this guy would be even average. Oh well we will bet there soon enough. I just hope I am alive to see it.

Don't over-complicate things. With Hamilton, procuring a coach was kinda like being sent out by the wife for toilet paper. You simply go to Walmart and you get-er-done.
The bottom line here is that the powers that be at Tiger High are more interested in the money that can be made from prostituting themselves on the football field than any concern they might have with what Josh Pastner thinks.
Precious article.
Bout the time you leave 'em for dead, look what happens.

Walmart's got a sale on Vienna Sausages going on right now. Might want to stock up for your road trips this Fall.
Better 40 times might help.
Embarrassing. But as long as Dave and everybody else over there are getting their extensions, bonuses and tee times to their liking, then I guess it's alright.
The NFL's a big-boy business. When you write extremely large checks, you manage risk as best you can.
Tennessee doesn't know how to extend a contract without including a bonus. The bonus verbage must be pre-printed on the form itself and they just write a dollar amount on the blank line.

It's really time, boys and girls, to let go of the Phil Fulmer thing.
in response to 8inarow: He is a good coach and we will miss him. But we will make it 9 in a row this September anyway.

Lot of smoke coming out of Gainesville lately. Maybe it'll turn into some fire :-) I sure hope so :-) Then, maybe the players and cheerleaders will have some extra time for the tattoo parlor at season's end while everybody else is going bowling.
Can't tackle? I've noticed that myself. In fact, watching last season's defense was about as fun as getting a barium inima. Glad the new staff has taken notice.
All that inbreeding down there has made football so important relative to anything else that they'll do whatever they can to win.
Maybe with all that hair out of the way they'll be able to catch some pop-ups this time around.
If they had a 100 keys in the trunk the bond would be a little steeper. What I wanna know is, is that a neck tat on the little one? And, who belongs to who, or are the chicks community property? Or what?
Jerry "The K-Mart Queen" Green needed to be fired. Bad.
Offensive line. It's where it all starts.
Don't you boys have spellcheck?
"Right now it's tough," Golden said of watching the NCAA tournament after the Vols' loss to Mercer on Wednesday night, "just because you see a couple of teams and tilt your head sideways wondering why you didn't make it".
And you say that after losing to Mercer on your home floor? That's laughable!
Well, he'll need to shorten his hair on the top and sides, and then let it grow out about 6 inches in the back to fit in. If you know what I mean.
They still haven't figured out what happened. No leadership from the bench. No leadership on the court. The buck for both stops on CM's desk.
in response to jimvolfan: For his part, Jancek bemoaned the team’s poor tackling. “Obviously we’ve got a lot of work to do with our tackling,” he said. “That’s pretty obvious for anybody that was out here. We’re missing a lot of tackles.” That’s why Jancek said he was more concerned about the basics right now than the installation of his system. Tackling has been a problem at UT for years. Too many attempts at arm tackling and not wrapping up the opponent. I hope that Jancek can get the guys to go back to basics and learn how to tackle properly.

Please don't remind me: Any person remaining at that school that was involved in the decision to hire Sal Sunseri at the salary level they did should be relieved of their duties by the close of business TODAY.
And while I'm at it (CHANGE OF TOPIC) -- If it took a public outcry for Jimmy Cheek to withdraw public funds for SEX WEEK (for which the school has now become a NATIONAL LAUGHING STOCK) he needs to be gone from The University Of Tennessee IMMEDIATELY.
in response to tulelakevol: Tide nation can take a long walk off a short pier. I do not care.

I'm here to tell you, they absolutely HATE IT at Waffle House when Tide fans come in because they bring canned Vienna Sausages in with them to use as the meat alongside their pancakes to save money. Makes the whole place smell like dog food.
Obviously didn't want to be there. There are probably several others including Tennessee that don't want to be there either. That Almighty Dollar.
Look, between Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi you lost 6 out of 7. And you gave another game or two away at the foul line. And there were times you should have been in zone when you were getting slashed to death or couldn't handle ball screens for some reason. It adds up, Cuonzo. I'm sorry, but your team didn't look well coached against Alabama. It was hard to watch. Now if your players don't want to play in the NIT you shouldn't accept their invitation. It's not their fault. Please don't go into it and lay down like you did last year.
This staff has difficulty adjusting to things during a game. What Alabama did to them with the high ball screen is an example. It's March. You either know how to deal with it, or you don't.
Two losses to Alabama, two to Georgia, should be enough BY ITSELF to keep any team out of the NCAA.
I knew Florida would beat Alabama by 10 as soon as we lost to Alabama by 10. CM, you just can't allow the same stuff to go on over and over again like you did in that game and expect a pass.
in response to SummittsCourt: A win here and a baseball sweep of the bamers sure would make for a great weekend!

2nd.
Whew. Shouldn't have to do that to beat WK. Keep working and learning.

So that's your response to what a high school kid said? Your post is not very impressive.
They're possibly finding it rather sobering about now that their football program has been in the toilet for the last 5 years.
Teams that get swept by the likes of Georgia should expect to have their "tournament hopes derailed".
in response to chipmurphy461: At this point in time, I agree with the majority;there's something more to the story of Jay Graham's departure than we are hearing...be it good or bad. It also sounds like we got the better end of the deal.

It's highly likely there's more to the story and I would have to disagree about us getting the better end of the deal.
Four future cooks for Waffle House - THE - place to eat when you're in Alabama.
At the risk of stating the obvious, something's going on over there. I sensed it when Tee checked things out and passed. But this Graham thing? - Much more obvious: Quick, virtually overnight, no comment, etc. I smell manure, and the gut's telling me it's coming from Jimmy Cheek's office. Those boys over there have a big nut to crack every month servicing that debt. Now's probably not a good time to try to become the Harvard of the South. If I'm right, somebody with some business sense needs to get their arms around that situation over there.
Maybe Coach Cal should consider Saban's stress reduction strategy by allowing his players to administer emergency-room-level beatings to fellow students unfortunate enough to cross their paths.
If Auburn hadn't been the highest bidder for Cam Newton, Gene Chizik probably wouldn't have lasted as long as he did down there. Obviously, this past season was more than even they could stomach.
Nick's gonna tell them about his new portable, morphine IV program he's sponsoring that will enable Alabama students who have the misfortune of encountering one of his players on campus to self-administer the pain inhibitor while they're lying on the sidewalk, waiting on the ambulance after a robbery beatdown.
Sometimes getting worked over as bad as they did is tough to get over. The blood's in the water. I believe they're going down.
Sometimes you just have to live in the moment. Whether this is the beginning of a TN surge, who knows? But, it was a classic BEATDOWN and poor little ole KY whined from the beginning to the end. I enjoyed it quite a bit :-)
KY got a beatdown AND got their panties in a wad. Enjoyed it thoroughly!
Must agree, home cookin was a plenty in Rupp last month. I guess the Blue Boys and their punk coach need all the help they can get sometimes.
Who cares that University of Tennessee athletics has declined to Vanderbilt's level? As long as Jimmy Cheek and all of the other grossly overpaid individuals responsible for it have their vacations planned and their tee times set - THAT, my friend, is what matters.
Dumber than a coal bucket.
They'll give you a free set of brass knuckles if you'll go to Alabama.
Nice win. Needed for sure. But why can't the turnovers be reduced? Much of it looks like good, old fashioned, lack of focus to me.
SC doesn't have any stars? Well, we'll fix that.
