Great article--really happy for Maurice. Nice to see nearly no buffoon JA-bashing weenies posting today. Perhaps they graduated at some time in their lives and are smart enough to stick to their supposed KNS boycott. LOL...

Again, this was a great article about Maurice, Coach Fulmer and Tennessee football. As always, great job John.

On Adams: Vols have talent to make up for personnel losses

Casey didn't lose the LSU game. Bone-headed play-calling on offense and poor defensive adjustments caused that loss (along with a brilliant performance by a backup LSU QB and the late TO by Donte).

Peyton was the best QB in UT history. Still, he had some horrible moments (see Memphis). Casey would get more love from UT fans if he grew up in Sevierville and spoke with a thick southern drawl. All Casey did was play like a warrior with server injuries (see ARK 6 OT game) and lead numerous fourth-quarter comebacks.

Casey Clausen is the best clutch QB in UT history. Dewey Warren was second IMHO. Peyton was the best QB in UT history but at times had trouble moving the chain when it counted. It's no coincidence that we won the NC when we had a QB who could run for crucial first downs late in games.

Casey deserved a better legacy than what some fans are granting him. Still, there are many who appreciate his toughness and courage. Yes he had flaws but he wore the orange jersey with pride. A lasting image of him came in his freshman year when he continued playing without a helmet.

Finally, like it or not, Casey won in Gainsville and Peyton did not. The first loss for PM there was on the D in the second half. However, the second lay on PM's horrible decision to throw a wild pass while being sacked which was returned for a TD. I think that turned a 14-7 game into a 21-7 one. Frankly, that play lost him a lot of national respect. A bad decision in the biggest game of the year.

juicetke, your reply was out of line. Sounds like you are the one who climbed out from under a rock. The post you responded to was reasonable.

Great article John. Seems like the boycott weenies still can't stay away from your articles. They can't decide whether or not to keep their heads in the sand--classic weenie dilemma. LOL...
