i've been a fan a long time but i have to say i'd rather support a team with good character that's mediocre than a winner that lacks it. the problem for Tennessee football is winners don't lack it.

did anyone notice all the running qb's getting thumped and staggering out of the game as their offensive line was spread from side line to side line? support coach fulmer as coach and future governor as he gears up to run over the opposition. there is no scheme out there that can stop you when you run over the opposing d, or when the opposing o can't keep you out of their backfield. CONGRATULATIONS TENNESSEE ON THE BIG BOWL WIN. THE DEFENSIVE PLAY WAS ESPECIALLY AWESOME.

jim_bell, also interesting to your comment of the "Jews murdering Jesus" is that under the Mosiac Law, God had set up a method of execution for the Hebrew people. that method was by stoning. They had the right to use that method even during the days of Jesus and after. you might recall the stoning of Stephen in Acts. But God foretold how His Son would die (Psm 22 esp v14-18) and by that prophetic,vicarious death would provide a means of salvation for all. God the Father could be credited for Jesus' death read Isa 53:10 "...the LORD was pleased to crush Him...." Had the Jews executed Jesus it would have been by stoning and we would not have our Jewish Savior.

its great to see this discussion rise to something truely meaningful...and i love tracking the Vols. Christians should never be anti-semetic. The Jews are still God's people. there are hundreds of verses that speak to Israels future restoration. This Church age exists during a partial hardening of the Jewish people Rom 11:25 "For I do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery--so that you will not be wise in your own estimation--that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in." next the Jews didn't murder Jesus the Romans (Gentile) actually were the ones who executed Him. And the explanation by jim_bell of Gal 3:28 needs a closer look. the verse is not saying that the Jews are no longer God's chosen people as reported. look at it...is there still male and female? without a doubt!! slave and free? sad but true! Gentile and Jew? you and Coach Pearl clear that up. What the verse is saying is that we are all one (jew gentile slave free male female when we each come to faith in Jesus Christ. Shalom

Coach Pearl is awesome and this team will be if they listen to the Coach. Bball is not like Fball boys, you can have some losses and grow and develop and get ready for tourney time. Right now they are like a big 'ol puppy with great big feet. But by time things SEC play starts Coach Pearl will have them ready to hunt. Lets not micro manage. all yall pop-bellied experts stop with the jawing and just sit back and relax and watch Coach Pearl build a program.

Cut is alright. I have the feeling Fulmer calls for a conservative scheme true to his OL roots. If Cut could cut loose I bet he would. I know Charlie Wies sure wishes he had him. Fulmer style works when you have the taters up front to blow open some holes in the D. I think we've got a great staff lets support them so we can get the recruits. Negative chatter kills recuiting.
