He's a Bama fan. There are a lot of those that like to check up on the Vols for some reason. I think they are a little scared for the future. There is also a UK fan, a couple of Vandy fans, and a Florida fan that post on this UT website more than UT fans do. They are total losers. You must ignore them.
in response to tovolny: 43 yard average???? There is a 13-year old in Fort Blackmore, Va. that kicks the football 45 to 50 yards...and does it bare-footed. He reached 6-foot tall in March of this year. He weighs 172 pounds and is growing like a weed. He is right-footed but can kick it just about as far with his left foot. His favorite food is buttered corn with biscuits and molasses. His daddy owns a junk yard, when I was there back in April, I watched him leap over a 1959 Rambler Station Wagon. His mother said he makes straight A's in school. He told me he wanted to become an artist and paint mountain landscapes, but was also interested in being a designer of women's clothing. This kid has naturally curly, fire red hair and looks like Steve McQueen. If he decides to play football this fall, he will be a good one. I can't reveal his name, but when you ever hear it, you just know he has to play football.

This is a weird comment. You could be telling the truth, idk, but it sounds like you made it up. I could say, " I live in Fort Blackmore and have never heard of this kid," and totally discredit you. Odd. Why can't you give his name or post a link to an article about him? Colleges recruit 8th graders now so if this kid's so unbelievable surely there is some information out there about him. Does he even play football on the local team?
Good for him. I always liked that kid.

Slightly scewed statistics considering the popularity of leaving college early for the NBA among men's basketball players. That's not really existant among female basketball players. The WNBA is not as appealling to the women, they would rather get a degree a have a long career in something else.

Drop the 3 creampuff games that everyone puts on the schedule. Play 9 conference games and the 3 remaining non-conference games should be from another BCS or mid-major conference. It would be less likely to have 3 or 4 undefeated teams by the last week of the season and you would have a better picture of who the "best" team in the nation is.

in response to alfrizzle097: But it isn't the same job. Do you make more money waiting tables at Red Lobster or the local romantic hot spot? Supply and demand. Higher demand curve assuming equal supply will dictate higher prices. I would be shocked if you look around the country and the men's trainers don't make more than the women's. This has nothing to do with the trainers being a man or a woman. It has to do with the demand for their respective positions.

This has nothing to do with the trainers being a man or a woman. It has to do with the demand for their respective positions.
Your example is two different locations, like UA trainers may make more than UT trainers. If a male waiter working at Red Lobster makes more per hour (base pay, no tips) with the same experience and aptitude as a female waitress at Red Lobster, then there could be an arguement for sexual discrimination. It has nothing to do with supply and demand, it's not accross the entire job market, it's the situation at a specific location, UT.. I don't understand your point of view. There are women trainers that work in men's sports.
If 4 different women call foul, then more than likely there is some validity to it. I can't believe some of the comments on here. There must be a lot of old men on here with 50's mindsets.
I hope you are doing more than posting on a blog, because I really don't think Hart or Cheek read this.
in response to alfrizzle097: And how are you to justify banning her from publicly owned property? Agreed that the book signing on campus while all this is going on looks a little weird. These cases won't amount to anything other than copious legal fees. Men's program has more definable worth than the women's program. The same holds true across most if not all of the country. This means the market will dictate a higher wage for the more in demand men's employees. If the wage discrimination suit goes anywhere, it will be because of an incredibly loose interpretation of title nine. It would basically rewrite the wage scale for all of college athletics if this went through.

Just because more people watch men's athletics than women's doesn't mean that men should make more for doing the same job.

The "Truth Squad" will go bananas over this one.
But I have to say, "He has worked hard to develop a more efficient financial model and has put the right people in place, including coaches, to help reach UT's aggressive goals," Cheek said. Really? What about the multi-million dollar debt and near bankruptcy of the athletics department and the coaching carousel in multiple sports? I wish I worked for Cheek. Talk about easy to please.

in response to FanNotSheep: From what I have read, Derek Dooley poisoned the NFL waters for Bray, blaming Tyler for his inability to coach. That's sad. I made excuses for Dooley, thinking the program needed continuity after so much turmoil in such a short time. But from talking with a couple of players who were there I learned that Dooley was the problem, certainly not the solution. The sad thing is UT had the chance to hire Kevin Sumlin and instead chose Dooley, one more thing to thank Mr. Hamilton for. What a mess. Here's hoping Jones can keep the momentum he is building brick by brick.

I'd like to read that article. Can you post a link or name the publication, date, or author?
You got some people bashing Bray, some bashing the coaches and then fighting about it. Too funny. There is plenty of blame to go around for Bray not getting drafted. First you have to blame the man himself, it's not like he didn't have a chance to be successful, however he was in a tough situation with the coaching changes, playing for Dooley, and injuries. Chaney is no shlub, though, so like I said, it's not like he wasn't given a chance to be successful. Billy, it's kind of hard to argue with NFL teams, conspiracy theories aside, they obviously saw something to not draft the guy, right?
Pay no attention to the fans of other teams that post on here, they are the definition of "loser." Also, I don't doubt that you guys are (likely geriatric)UT fans, but what's with the obsession with Hart, and Dooley, and Fulmer? Let it go. You guys know who you are.
Finally, the most important question that is getting lost in the Bray drama.... what the hell was Darrington Sentimore thinking?

Funny that you are on here but don't know the teams record. Even at UT's lowest, they beat UK last fall and VU the fall before. Enjoy retirement!
I wonder if he has the same plan in store for the TE's he has recruited, making them OL with athleticism. Didn't see much use of a TE in the spring game.

Then spends three years in purgatory with a coach who couldn't save the program? Sorry, he's not the guy to blame. Bray goes either second or third round to the Pittsburgh Steelers. And write it down, he not only plays, he eventually starts. He had the strongest arm to ever wear orange and that helps on Sundays.

I didn't read anybody blaming him for anything, and I think Tee Martin had a stronger arm. The deep ball was kind of his thing that championship season.

I hope you are right, USC lost a lot of skill also and the home field could help. UGA though, man, they look tough. Stud RB's, Murray coming back with something to prove, experienced wideouts. They lost some on defense, but they'll just reload. To be honest, they are my preseason national champs.
That is the problem as I see it. These two should be looking at it as a competition, why aren't they? One should step up and say, "screw you, dude, this is my team and I want to lead them to victory," and try to outplay the other. This is ridiculous, please stop being so nice to each other and step up! These two are making it too easy for Dobbs or Ferguson to step in and take this offense from them.
For a few posters:" People hold onto the past because something in their past made them really happy or something from their past is still making them miserable. "- Sonya Parker
With the constant negativity, I'm guessing the later.
As far as the game is concerned, I truly believe there is a big problem at QB. I know it was just a spring game with limited formations and limited plays, it did seem like they ran the same six plays over and over, but the offense had only one bright spot, Alden Hill. The two QB's didn't look away the defense or come off of their first read, the same issue Bray had. But unlike Bray, they don't have the arm strength to throw the ball away quickly. On Worley's interception, he had the inside receiver open on a post and missed him. I know it's easy to criticize from the stands but I do expect a little more from a Junior QB with game experience. I truly feel that Ferguson will be starting at some point next season. The defense is harder to judge. Are they really that good or is the offense really that bad? They did good on pressuring two below average QB's that ate sacks but they allowed a lot of rushing yards to an unknown back. Will they be able to contain Mariota or Driskel or stop UGA's or UA's stable of stud RB's? I'm afraid not. I have them at 3-5 going into the Missouri game, and that's with a close one over a Petrino lead WKU. However, the last four games are winnable and they could end at 7-5, which would be great with the lack of talent or depth on this team. Hey one good thing I saw was Cory Vereen. True freshman, likely starter, ferocious pass rusher, future All-SEC talent right there. Very impressive.
You are weird. You should get some help. Do you get paid by Saban or Muschamp to do this?
