Who cares!!!!!
This is a VOL website in case you guys haven't noticed.
It's a moot point now. He's gone and we need a PG.
Also, Landry was not going to cut it here anyway.
GO VOLS!!!
I don't think a loss before the end of the season and during a long winning streak is a bad thing. I would rather it happen now than in the tourney when it matters the most.
Go Lady Vols!!!
Awesome article!! Great players and young ladies!!
GO Lady Vols!!!
Way to go Zach!!! Welcome to the hill!!!
Congrats young man!! Definite VFL!!!
in response to VolunteerLifer: I have heard that CCM does not recruit players who have publicly committed to other schools. I like that. Shows integrity. So it strikes me that he isn't the kind of guy who would go back on any of his commitments to any of his players or recruits, including Landry. Therefore, I think it highly likely that one of his current recruits or his current players have told him that they aren't going to play for UT next year. My guess is that it isn't Landry. My other guess is that it will come from the wing types, of which there are many and playing time will be scarce next year for those who rode the bench this year. Best guess: Chievous.

Chievous had a lot of playing time down the stretch. I would say Edwards.....or maybe Reese.
Great news!!!
in response to manniesghost1903: Jalen Lindsey will call UT a great school but his Head Coach at CPA is Drew Maddox and Brian Alsmiller is one of the assistants. CPA has recruited a great all star team to make sure Jake Alsmiller (guess who's son he is?) will be an all star state champion. Right now the only team that has a very slim chance against the CPA Lions State Champion AA Invitational is Jackson Southside and that is a slim and none chance. UT may have offered Jalen Lindsey a scholarship but my guess is that Drew Maddux would break both Lindsey's knee caps before he would allow him to sign with UT. I am not saying CPA is not good but they really belong in the private school division with Brentwood Academy; MBA; etc;.

Let's just hope that Jalen can make his own decisions if he truly wants to be a VOL!!!
Would love to see him on the hill. We have room for another Jalen..... :)
Man, I want to see this kid in ORANGE!!!
This!!
Great job Lady Vols!!!
Keep the chip on your shoulders and you'll go far. Looking forward to the tourney.
Not when you have 5* prospects in your own backyard.
GBO VFL
Or Charlie Garner!!!
Well, what happened!!!
WOW!!!
in response to vol98champ: If I remember correctly, Bray was going to San Diego State until Lanney changed his mind. I'll take the guy Lanney ran off any day over Bray. Probably both schools would have been better off without the changes. So many mistakes for so many years!!!

I believe that would have been Taj Boyd.
With that said, Bray was not the problem with UT during his time here.
GBO VFL!!!
I really wish he would keep Pittman. Our O-Line was possibly the brightest spot on this team this year.
Also, I'm not convinced that we will have the best coaching staff if he brings that many from Cincy with him. Time will tell and I hope I'm wrong.
He really needs to add Tee Martin to this staff.
in response to GeorgiaVolunteer: Tennessee's new football coach was "half bear, the other half cat" before he accepted the job. Hopefully, that's a good thing.

Nice play on words!! I was not happy about this hire, but he is at least a proven winner. It remains to be seen if he can withstand the SEC, but it sounds like some recruits are not shying away from him.
Great comments from current players.
Yeah, but he will be able to recruit better at UT. Nothing against Cincy, but this is UT and the SEC.
I would rather have Fulmer back and I thought I would never say that.
I thought Butch Jones had already accepted another job? Colorado I think.
Too funny!!!
Sad, but funny nonetheless.
in response to clvolfan: I cannot believe I am hearing callers to UT talk radio, that are actually wanting the administration to bring CPF back as head coach. He's the one who started this mess and took his 6 million and smiled all the way to the bank. His time has passed, and we can do better.Coach Chizik would probably talk to UT,which would be ok with me.

You were doing great right up to the point you mentioned Chizik's name and you totally blew it.
Not no, but h311 NO!!!!
I have no issues with this if it is true. Of course, I would rather had Gruden for the recruiting effect, but I think Strong would be fine. He knows the SEC and is a DEFENSIVE mind; in which we need greatly if you guys haven't been watching.
Oh no, don't jump people!!! If you really thought he was coming, you were only kidding yourself. I wanted him to come badly, but did not really expect it to happen. Stoops or Jimbo Fisher should be the next targets IMHO.
in response to CMKSIDESHOW: Gruden is definetly the smokescreen for the real coach. Gruden is not coming to Tennessee or he would already be here. JIM TRESSEL will be the next head coach at TENNESSEE. By keeping Grudens name out there they know that is the one person everybody in media and fan base will lock their eyes on. Bring on the Sweater Vest.

Dude, he can't coach for another 3-4 years. He ain't coming to UT.
Yep.
in response to Rock85: A new SEC TV deal worth 15 to 25 MILLION per year..

And Mr. Haslam!!! :)
Great job Coaches Weekly!!!
Heartbreaking loss, but not the end of the world.
I agree.
in response to Vol4EVA: Here is a novel idea. How about everyone on the radio and in these comment boards quit speculating and commenting as though they know what they are talking about until this young man and his family communicate their decision? Between the recruiting of Austin and the swirl around Coach Dooley, they need to change the name of Knoxville to Gossipville or Dramatown. Absolutely ridiculous the way some fans act like children or high school kids thriving on rumor and innuendo. Go Big Orange!....I'll hang up and listen to your comments...

Awesome news!!!
Those of you bringing up football, please take it somewhere else and let us enjoy this great moment for a while.

Are we sure this hasn't already been resolved?? It should be a moot point......hopefully. :)
Sounds to me like she may have gotten wind of something brewing as the first poster stated. Maybe this means we have some good news coming. Let's hope this is the case.
Well, if it's up to his dad, this will not happen. I agree with you King. This is not as promising as I had been reading.

And I believe 0% of them.
I think we take care of business this weekend and play well against Alabama. Remember, we were tied with them last year at halftime at Bama and they had a better team. Still probably no shot at beating them, but you never know. South Carolina will be tough too, but possible. The rest of the games will be a disappointment if we do not win them.
in response to Richmonds_Wannabe_Brother: Those continuously dissing the defense, check out Dalton Williams' stats. Before tonight, he was averaging 334.7 yard/game and had 10 TDs and 3 Ints. He was sixth in YPG, and tied for first with the 10 TDs (with Barkley). Tonight he has only 227 yards (so far), no TDs and 3 Ints.

Thanks for the post!!! This actually makes me feel a little better. Seriously, I was pissed last night, but it helps to know that this was not a fluke for them. It will still be a long day next Saturday if we don't get some things fixed. Like, how long it took the coaches to add another DB in the game to take away the inside receiver last night. WOW!!!
Are you shatting me???? Toledo????
Can I write for you guys.....lol
Yet more great news from CCM. Keep it coming!!!
GO VOLS!!!!
Awesome news!!! This is just more proof that we do have the right man. We have needed a true scorer and we may have just gotten that in Hubbs III. Way to go CCM!!!
Now let's close it out with Williams and Nichols.
in response to RunningWithTheVols: Love Dooley's consistent theme: playing time decisions are "performance based", as he said when Lane fumbled and was promptly and correctly, yanked. Watson looks better than anyone I've seen since Hardesty: decisive with some moves.

Great post!! I couldn't agree more. Glad to see him yank Palarady too. He has never impressed me since he's been on the hill. Of course, he don't really have to impress me, but glad to see CDD is quick to yank him if he is struggling. He just can't seem to get it together.
Also, Watson showed me something last Saturday. Yes, it was against GS, but he showed he will hit a hole hard and fast; and he's got some speed when he's through the hole. He reminded me of Charlie Garner.
GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
in response to vol98champ: I am so sick of reading this on this site. We have no idea whether Dooley can coach. Our talent level the last two years was like Georgia Tech in 1980. A few years later they were really good. If UT "fans" would shut up their pie hole until the Vols have time to recover from the great depression, we might get over it quicker.

I also couldn't agree more. I so wish all these NegaVols would just go away.
Really????
Is this all they have to write about??? Everyone knows this shat. Who wants to read about it for the umpteenth time!!!
Glad to hear of his progress.

I was at that game. Man, what a freaking monsoon it was. You could see it coming, but no one was leaving. And Mose ran all over duh Gators that day. Kelly and the boys were all over Shane Matthews too. Man that was fun.
Awesome news!! Welcome to the hill JRM.
As bad as it hurts to say, way to go Lady Tide. We will be back, but for now, enjoy being the first SEC team to break through for the WCWS championship.
