Here's a novel idea... Line up and freakin block your rears off. Blow somebody off the line, convert on 3rd and short with fundamental, smash-mouth, SEC football. Enough with the dink and dunk. Truly establish the running game with attitude, grit and nasty line play. Youre not going to trick em. Line up and freakin play football. Berry belongs focused on dominating the secondary on D!!!!!!!!!!

"Respect" is overrated. Tennessee has been off the radar so long in men's basketball so true respect will only come with time. Bruce has everyone's attention and has his peers in SEC grimacing. The season we have had is tremendous. 31 wins and counting. We cherish the underdog role, we feed off it. I don't want respect until we take the championship.

The key stat that will dictate the outcome of this game is REBOUNDS. We have to really get after it on the boards. Louisville is long and athletic and thrives on put back baskets. Look for Williams to play a bunch although he has struggled somewhat against quick post players this year.
The attack employed in the win against Memphis is exactly the formula for success against Louisville. Lets go Vols! Go get 'em!
By the way, I do believe Prince will start again at point. Louisville likes to press, so Prince will really be tested at point. But, Prince brings size that we need badly in the backcourt to challenge the three ball.

I ain't bellyachin, just my opinion :) I think Butler is the product of a very weak conference. Again, not much that they put on the floor that will scare anybody. I think our stuggles were more our own doing.
I'd love to us get more good looks out of our half court sets. There's too much one-on-one stuff and "tough twos". But again, Survive and Advance is the name of the game. I'm thrilled and full of optimism that we will get better in the next round.

I'm tickled to death that we're in the sweet 16; BUT, IMO Butler was not a very good team. Butler has very limited athleticism, no length inside, no transition game. They do have senior players who play well together, but I'm a little concerned with our Vols. We just don't seem to have any flow to our game the last 4 or 5 games. We are turning it over far too much, we continue to struggle stopping dribble drives, leaving too many 3 point shooters open (a bit lucky Butler didn't shoot a higher percentage today) and our press is ineffective in turning teams over or in speeding up tempo to our liking.
Here's hoping we can get clicking. It's going to take a great, great effort to down Louisville.

Survive and advance. That's what it's all about. I sure hope Lofton can get off Sunday against Butler. We are going to need all cylinders firing. It's time to catch fire.
Prince is a peculiar player. Obviously he is a gifted athelete, but he plays with little urgency, he has no outside shot, and why any team wouldn't sluff off on him and make him go right is beyond me. I don't think he is the answer at point, but it's hard to question Pearl. He knows how to push the right buttons. I sense that we are ready to explode agianst Butler. Tyler and Wayne and JaJuan appear to have it together, but we need everyone clicking against Butler.

As a county music song goes...it's cheaper to keep her.
All joking aside, this is obviously unfortunate and inexcusible, but hardly newsworthy.

Buckle up! It's going to be interesting. At a minimum, it's very refreshing for Vol fans to put on the court a very competitive, well-coached team. The loss to Arkansas and struggle with SC is a concern. If we better defend the post and dribble drives, make our share of our shots and turn teams over as we are accustomed to doing with a renewed sense of defensive intensity, we have the depth and senior leadership to go all the way. Point gaurd play clearly has to improve. Teams will continue to sluff off Howell and dare him to shoot. It should be an interesting tourny.

College tennis is such an awesome sport. It understandably doesn't get the pub of the other big sports, but great to see the Vols excelling.
