This whole Wide Receiver U debate is far past ridiculous. Yes, that used to be a nickname for us. No, not so much anymore. Was it widely accepted enough for you to know it? Apparently not and who cares if you do? I know I dont.
Who cares what justifies it? Is The Swamp really a swamp? No. Its on a cow pasture. Is Georgia the only school that has frickin bushes on the field? NO! But they get the distinction of "between the hedges".
Fact is, all schools have silly monikers and nicknames that either fans or some giddy reporter will grace them with.
So lighten up and go to your own site and complain to your boys that UT fans are retarded and they think they root for "Wide Receiver U". Let us enjoy the kool aid, its burnin up outside!

McBrim, you crack me up. Never leave, we need something to break up the monotony of our nonstop back patting. I would much rather read your posts that put down UT than some "fan" of the Vols who is short on pride.
As for the preseason ranking, I could care less. I honestly think 3rd is spot on with the talent in our division. New QB, new OC, questions on D Line and the usual UT mind numbing lapses in performance (i.e. CAL, UF, BAMA '07), who really knows whats going to happen? I can tell you this much though, I cant wait to get it started.
Vol4gzus, no disrespect to your enthusiastic mom, but give her ticket to a kid who can scream. We have enough of the elderly in the stands, sitting on their hands with headphones on asking me to sit down. We have one of the largest venues in the country....now we need one of the loudest!
