It was a great win last night. I only see two things this team needs to improve on to be a Final 4, national championship calibur team - rebounding and free throw percentage.
We out rebounded Vandy last night 42-37, but I think that's because Ogilvy was in foul trouble for Vandy. Our free throw percentage last night was 58.3% (14-24). That is horrible! Someone make Chism work on his free throws. He's under 50%. You have to make free throws to advance deep in the tournament.
If the Vols improve those two things, UT is Final 4 bound!

I hate the Gators, but it is clear that Tebow deserves the Heisman. I mean, c'mon, 20+ pass TDs and 20+ rush TDs. Those are insane numbers. But I agree with Adams, if Tebow does win it will be by a small margin (even though it shouldn't even be close) or some lesser deserving Big 10, PAC-10, or Big 12 player will get it.

Wow. I was floored when I read this. My thoughts and prayers are with Siran Stacy, his hospitalized daughter Shelly, and the rest of his family.
We all get on here and bark about UT sports and sports in general. Incidents like these remind you that sports are just games. Your family is really all that is important.

I have showed my frustration with Fulmer on this site and I still hold that I think it is time to make a change. I do believe the game has passed Fulmer by. But if we do decide to make a change, let's let Fulmer step down with some pride and not just toss him by the wayside. The man has done something that almost every coach at the university has failed to do - win a national championship. If we make a change, let's applaud the man for his accomplishments and not just say "good riddance." Fulmer gave a large majority of his life to the university and the football team.

Wow, great, more players our coaches won't be able to coach.

utvolfan....I'm never going to quit supporting this team. I've been a season ticket holder since 1997 and I will be at the game this Saturday.
But, I am going to voice my displeasure when I think the team shows no heart and plays well below the standards of Tennessee football (coaches and players). We are 15-12 since 2005. That is unacceptable. I am just tired of mediocrity and that is what Tennessee has been since the 2002 season really. We're not even a top 3 team in our own conference. And as someone who invests in this team (money and time), I will speak my mind when the team shows no heart and care about the Big Orange. 59-20 shows no heart.
Florida went for a first down on 4th and 4 near midfield on Saturday. To me, that speaks volumes on how far our team has fallen in the SEC. No one thinks we can stop them. And right now, we can't.

Great. They are owning up to the loss. Whoopie doo. They flat out embarassed the state of Tennessee on Saturday. The coaches and players. It's hard to even put on my Tennessee ballcap anymore. There is just no heart on this team. None at all.
They need to change the sign in the locker room from "Do your best for Tennessee today" to "Don't embarrass Tennessee today."

I am neither a Fulmer backer or hater, but I do think it is time to make a change. From 2001 to present this team has been nothing but mediocre at best. We've slipped from a top 3 team in the SEC to maybe top 6-7. We can't win on our own turf anymore and we are owned by our biggest rivals. It became apparent to me on Saturday, that the college game has just passed Fulmer and Chavis by. We need someone young, innovative, and hungry to come in here and turn this thing around.

I see Florida winning this one 31-21. I think our D is improved, but not enough to stop the Gators. I see Florida having a good lead at half (maybe 21-7) and us playing catch up the whole 2nd half. Plus, we tend to play our worst game of the year against them (especially in the Swamp).
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE prove me wrong. I would love for us to win in the Swamp and shut that egomaniac Meyer up.

Guys and gals, what it boils down to is have you seen anything in the first two games to show you that Tennessee will even stay close to Florida? My answer is no.
I think Florida will jump up on us quick, like 21-0 and we will be forced to give up on running the ball and let Crompton toss it all over the yard. I really don't see this game being any closer than 38-20. I hope the Vols prove me wrong. But as of right now, they haven't done anything to show me they are even on the same plateau as Florida.
