I would like to ask rtrchatt how the Gumps let the Vols beat them in the SEC All sports trophy though?
I'm sure if we lost today, rtrchatt would be on here. I'm sure he's watching though.

A twelve year old kid that mommy and daddy let have too much computer time?
I guess they didn't count women's bowling? The bowling may have moved Vandy up a couple spots to eighth?
in response to ProfessionalHandicapper: Look at the Big Three Mens Sports (basketball, football and baseball). UT has been horrible for the last few years. In the last 4 years Vandy finsihed 4th in the World Series, won the Mens SEC basketball Tourney, gone to two Bowls and just broke the all time SEC single season win total in baseball while ranked number 2 in the Nation. In those same 4 years UT has won no Bowls, missed the SEC baseball Tourney every year, and been nothing but a second rate NIT team. Vandy had a number 4 ranked finish in the Nation while the last time UT finished in the Top 5 in those mens sports was 1998 under Fulmer. Vandy also just put three players in the Top 32 picks of the NBA, something UT has never done. In the Big Three mens sports Vandy has crushed UT in total wins for three straight years and finished second only to Florida two years ago. I know UT fans will talk about the old days while forgetting they fired away the old winners and now are the bottom of the SEC. There is new top dog in the state and its Vandy. We will see ya in the World Series in a few weeks.. GO DORES!!

It shouldn't take a Vanderbilt degree to realize that fourth is better than tenth. At least you can say the Dores were in the top ten.

Considering Tennessee has more freshmen on the roster than anybody else in college baseball, I would assume at least four or five more years. The Vols have 18 freshmen and 5 Sophomores on their 32 man roster. Not exactly the time to be calling for a coach to be fired.

Please leave TN. I'm not jealous of anybody from a school with a fan base that poisons trees and joins other school's websites to talk trash. Football just isn't as important to me as it is to people like yourself and Harvey Updyke. Grow up.

I didn't mean to offend you, I guess I forgot that there would be Bammers on a Tennessee website? My jealousy precedes me haha? lol
Just another example of the mess that the UTK Administration has been for the last twenty years. Moshak even being allowed on campus is a joke, much less her signing her book there! Somebody other than a lawyer show some leadership at UTK for God's sake!

Even the defending National Champ Gumps had trouble filling Bryant-Denny with Updikes every game last season, but everything is bigger in Texas. Maybe A&M will have better results in the age of HD television and more wins over Saban in their future?

When the men’s and women’s athletic departments became one, the head strength coach for football became the director of the strength and conditioning department and she became second in command. That is why she was making the amount that she was. N. Christopher is not the head men’s basketball strength coach. He is an assistant on the Olympic staff that is responsible for men’s basketball. His salary is acceptable for the program at a school whose men’s team is as successful (or not) as it is. He has done nothing to deserve more that what he is currently getting. She is complaining because before the two departments joined, she, as head of the women’s strength department was getting paid less than 100,000 and the head of the men’s strength department was getting paid 2.5 times as much. Whether it is right or wrong for her to file a case is irrelevant for this conversation. My point is that before someone comments on a subject, they need to know about the subject.

I don't care if she was the President of the United States! $100,000 bucks is a lot of cash to coach women on how to do sit ups. Women's sports usually cost the university money. I would have shut my mouth making that kind of cash in a non-revenue world. I guess she could go back to Cincy and make $25,000 a year? Good riddance!

Punctuation? A woman strength coach making 100,000 bucks a year that is complaining about a salary? Same school with a men's coach making $50,000 a year and he's not complaining? You look stupid, give it up title 9.
They got a steal.

Exactly, we have a women's assistant strength coach filing a complaint about a $100,000 salary! But our Head Men's Basketball strength coach makes $50,000 and hasn't complained? Nicodemus, call your lawyer!
$102,000 bucks as an assistant strength coach for women's sports! Nicodemus Christopher the men's basketball strength coach makes a little over $50,000! Where's the discrimination there? She should have kept her mouth shut and collected her nice salary.
Moshak next?
in response to 8inarow: In more positive news, TitleTown put another trophy in its overloaded National Championship Case when the Gators Gymnastics Team won on Saturday in LA. There are only 5 schools in the country who have won this title, 3-from the SEC. UF, bammer and ga. The others are Utah and ucla. I know you all will send your congratulations to UF for another fine accomplishment.

I see a lot of people that "side step" UT's dry campus every home game Saturday in the Fall. I would venture to say that 95 percent of them aren't "high dollar donors." Pretty sure that the people that bring coolers full of beer into the baseball stadium and sit in The Porch seats aren't "high dollar donors" either.
Very smart decision. I wonder if he got a call from Scotty Hopson?
I Love Peyton Manning!
I bet Opie Muschamp had a temper tantrum about something. Poor kid.

Talk about terrible fans, have you watched a Gamecock basketball game lately? The attendance is almost as big of a joke as your team.
Thanks for your opinion, please do not come back to Lindsey Nelson or this board.

False. Most Auburn athletes feel like Auburn owes them something. I have yet to hear of any former UT athletes throwing their school under the bus.

P.S. Most reporters that are good at their jobs do not publish stories unless they have good, credible sources. She never has, perhaps that's why ESPN didn't renew her contract?
I guess she hasn't learned anything from being "lied" to the first time? Her source for her new story is a guy going on trial for felony armed robbery. He's a model citizen. She did what she was trying to do here, she's made a name for her new blog.

I'm a Tennessee fan, but says who? The "reporter" that had her contract dropped by ESPN and convicted the Duke Lacrosse players before the facts came out? The same "reporter" that just started her own website and is trying to make a name for it? The same "reporter" that got most of her info from a guy facing felony robbery charges? Real credible. The NCAA has already investigated Auburn for a lengthy period of time during the Cam deal and they found nothing. This is pile on Auburn week again. Happens everytime an anti-Saban story came out which happened two days before

It's not an NCAA violation to have football players fail drug tests. It happens all the time.

What's your theory on how and why he got Hubbs to sign? I'm interested to know?
in response to tomkats3242: Martin is over paid for no more than he gives to the University. He is at best a junion college coach and he cannot recruit quality players. What he has gotten to play for UT would not make a good junior college team. If Hart gives him a raise than the University President should fire Hart also. Enough giving large contracts for nobody coachs.

Stokes and Robert Hubbs aren't quality players? I guess Duke, Florida, Memphis, etc. only offered those two because they felt they would be good practice players?
Once a Gump, always a Gump I guess? Perhaps he can have Harvey Updike help him clear out his trees now? Stay classy Gumps!!!!!!!!!
It's hard enough to sell football tickets these days, much less women's basketball tickets. It's pretty much Baylor and everybody else. Anybody that has a man on their team is going to win.

Without Gordon, who will bail us out against Vanderbilt like he did in 2011 with the game clinching INT for a TD? Spew that nonsense elsewhere!
Should be interesting! Not a single story on here about Lady Vols taking 2 of 3 from Gumps in softball?
That video is great.
This is a well written piece.

Yes....that's a good first day's work.

Mike Hamilton is no longer involved with contracting and more importantly the university. The new coaching contracts will be written by somebody with a decent amount of intelligence.

Yes, who do you really pull for? I hope not Bama, UK, UF, or Vandy, because the Vols beat all of those teams.
It's pretty obvious, Trae Golden makes us go!!!!!!!!

In that thumbnail pic of Sunseri above, he looks about as stupid as his defense looked on the field last season. Glad that he is gone.

That's far from the truth! Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was the number 12 overall prospect, a McDonalds All-American and a consensus 5 star recruit. Do a little research before spewing nonsense, I you had ever watched a Georgia game then you would have known about KCP. I'm not sure you are qualified to give your opinion on our coach?

Right now, they can't outbid Bama. The Gumps are paying way more than the Barners at the moment. I wonder how long after a new NCAA czar is in place that both programs are hit with major sanctions? They can't stand the thought of each other so much that they cheat to stay ahead of one another.
