sjt18.. I agreed with you on our young o-line, but I think coach Searels is doing an exceptional job coaching up these young pups. I believe he'll have his kids ready to play by fall. I like his old school style.. in your face type of guy. That's why I think we'll be okay on the o-line. I'm glad that we're open with Georgia Southern/Central Michigan, so we can get some kinks out of the young line before the gamecock game. I believe the USC game will be our first major test on the o-line. They return 10 starters on D. It might be a defensive battle and it could come down to field goal. I think we can beat the gamecocks because of the depth on our D is deep. Their O don't have a whole lot of playmakers, nor are they deep. They'll struggle on offense. All in all, it might be a close game. Our young o-line will experience a great deal of growing pains with an ugly victory. With 3 game seasoning, we should be seasoned and ready to conquer the tough road blocks ahead.

Actually this will be the last season we play bama 'till 2013, it's every five years. We beat'em in their backyard, now they come to our house to get their butt beat again. It was a close game last season, it went in OT and expect a better Bama team this year. It'll be another nail biter.
I don't think we're overhyped by any means nor are we overrated. Are we jealous there son? Don't bother, it's just the media yapping. You have to know that the media does all the hyping. But I can assure you, Notre Lame, Ohio State and Southern Cal, to name a few, gets all the hyped. Buckeyes are always overrated, IMO, they shouldn't have been in that BCS title game.
From what I've heard from the players/coaches, we'll approached one game at a time. We can't overlook any of our opponents regardless of their ranking or record... remember Appy.

sjt18... I understood ya. I think it'll be a good match up verse your secondary. I hope y'all do play man or press coverage. We live off of it. Bama played man and they got burned with underneath bubble/quick screens. And of course the game winner TD pass to Henderson in OT.
Tenn definitely will prolly have the best secondary we will face this season. You can correct me if I'm wrong, but it seemed like Chavis always go with the cover 2 look majority of the time against us and he does a good job of mixing it up too. You can take away the big plays with your secondaries but the only way for us to win this game is to control the line of scrimmage. Hopefully toward the end of the 3rd qtr, we'll wear done your d-line, only due to the lack of depth at DT. If we can pound the rock 4-5 yards on first downs, we should be able to keep your O on the sideline. I'm assuming you'll want to force Stafford to throw rather than Moreno having a field day.
We can go on and on about it, which is fun btw, I love talking to people who knows their football. But there's a lot of "IFs", till kickoff. A whole a lot of crazy things can go wrong with kids getting into trouble and end up facing suspensions, whichever the case may be. There's always some knuckle head will try to push the limit. I crossed my fingers everyday they're behaving good-dawgs and stay put on the porch.

sjt18... Yes, Moreno will get 5-6 yards a pop, if Stafford plays well. We have to rely more on Stafford this year because everybody in the nation knows about Knowshon now. Defenses will load up the box try to stop Moreno. And I'm confident Stafford will win a lot of games for us. 3 starters back on o-line, all talented group of sophomores... LT-Sturdivant, C-Chris Davis, RG-Clint Boling. I'm confident in these youngsters. I'm also confident with the 2 new additions, they played significant amount of games last season. LG-Vince Vance-jr and RT-Kiante Tripp-so. They had big games experience.
As far as out in space. Man, we got some playmakers at WRs. Some people haven't heard about some of these youngsters yet, but they will. Starters: Massaquoi-aka-MoMass-sr, Kenneth Harris-sr and Kris Durham-jr.
The backups are quite talented... Michael Moore-jr-agile/quick, Demiko Goodman-sr-track-star, Tony Wilson-jr-physical kid, excellent blocker, Israel Troup-fr-another physical kid, Walter Hill-fr-big tall athletic kid at 6-4, 210.
The most talented of the group IMO, are these two true freshmens: Tavarres King, 6-1,170-already enrolled/participated in spring.. he's similar to Mikey Henderson, but more elusive and AJ Greene-6-4,190-prep All-American, a Randy Moss body type, but with better character, a humble kid who I think will contribute right away... these guys are big playmakers who can stretch the field.
TEs: Tripp Chandler-sr, good receiver/blocker, Bruce Figgins-so, physical blocker and good hands as well and Aron White-fr, good receiver, needs to add mass to his frame, 225-lbs. Had one TE transfer, I guess he couldn't handle the competition, I wish him the best though.
FullBacks: Brandon Southerland-sr is also another dependable weapon... bruising physical blocker and good receiver as well. Shaun Chapas-so, is very agile/athletic for a big kid, played some tailbacks last season and Fred Munzenmaier-so, a bruiser, similar to Brandon.
Overall, I like our skill guys. I think we'll match well against your secondaries. Stafford have some good playmakers to spread the wealth around and will open up some spaces for Moreno to roam through. We shall see, hopefully we'll have all our guys healthy by Oct-11.

hmmm.. can't wait to see this "special" team. Depth at y'all DT will prolly hurt y'all in close games. That's where I think Knowshon Moreno should explode for 5-6 yards a pop. It'll be a close game, it may decide between the trenches.
4 long hot summer months 'till kick off... sux!

Whats up fellas, just came back from fishing. Didn't catch a dadgum thing.. prolly because the water is too low. Anywho, lets talk some football.
Yep, y'all beat us last 2 yrs in a row. No excuse at all, y'all beat us fair and square... rookie QB or young linemen, dudn't matter, a lost is a lost. Last season's game was an old fashion butt whupping. But here's the thing though, in a way, that beat down was prolly the best thing for our team. I think it changed the way Richt coached. He made it clear to his team, that'll never happened again.. ever. We didn't feel sorry for ourselves and we didn't QUIT! We fought back and finished the season on a strong note. Yes, I wish the Rose would've given us a chance to play USC. I think we would've beaten the Trojans in their back yard. We were the hottest team, IMO... a la NY Giants. But it is what it is.
With that said, expectations are pretty high for the upcoming season. And we are not going to shy away from talking national title. We're not being cocky by all means, no, I think if we don't make it to the show, it would be a big dissapointment, of course. Heck, isn't that what everybody plays for?... the ultimate goal is to play for SECCG and a chance for BCS-title right? But, I'll still love my team no matter.
We definitely have a lot of key players returning. My only concern right now, is the O-line and the brutal schedule.
O-line is mostly are all sophomores and freshmens. We are much younger than we were last season. Only one junior on the line, but he's only on his second year with the system.. Vince Vance, 6-8 330, was a JUCO. These young guys have plenty of time to mature by fall and they should. If we survive this sked with one loss, we should play for the title.
The vols will be tough to beat as always. It'll be a close game. IMO, I think we'll win this one, finally. Our D will make a key stop in the 4th qtr, to pull away with a W... we're deep in our front 7, btw. Our season will depend solely on our D. D-line will bring pressures from up the middle and on the edge. 4-DTs will rotate to stay fresh.. Jeff Owen-sr, Geno Atkins-jr.. will prolly go pro early, Kade Weston-jr, Corvey Irvin-sr, Ricardo Crawford-so & Brandon Wood-so. At DEs, Roderick Battle-jr, Jarius Wynn-sr.. remember this guy's name, he's a force, J-Lo, Jeremy Lomax-sr, Michael Lemons-so, Demarcus Dobbs-so, Neland Ball-fr & Justin Houston-fr. I'm not including the '08 class.
If we lose, I'll be the first one on this blog to congratulate y'all.

8-0 by end of Oct?... yeah, ok and you'll be the first one to say fire Fulmer. I say maybe 4-4.
G-Gun, I like it. G for Georgia right!?!
Get ready goon squatt, Stafford has a bigger GUN.
See y'all 2morrow, gotta get some zzz's.

Can't wait to see this new multiple formation, ball controlling offense. By the time 10/11 rolls around, we should have a pretty good idea what y'all are up to. Same thing with Bama, Auburn and Tech with their whole new offense as well. It sounds like a good scheme on paper, but we shall see. Our D should have plenty of film to dissect that new O. btw, we're blacken' out the orange!... to mourn our fellow SEC brethren. 2-0 in BLACK.

sjt18.. I'm more concerned about Bama than I am with USC. As a matter of fact, IMO, out of our first 5 games: GaSouthern, C. Michigan, USC, ASU & Bama, I believe the Parole-Tides will be the hardest team to beat. Bama's O looked good at their A-game. I didn't see a much of a differences from Major Applewhite's O. I guess we'll find out when they play Clemson in our naked of the hoods.. ATL.
Ahh, the bye week before Tenn. I love it! It can be a good bye week if you win or a bad bye week if you lose. I can't remember the last time we had a bye before playing Tenn. I think it certainly helped y'all out tremendously last year. It made a difference for us in Jacksonville. Y'all came out fired up! It was a different Tenn team than what I saw at Gainesville. Tenn looked more fresh and was the hungriest team on the field. I think y'all smelled blood before kickoff. In any event, maybe the tide will turn this time around. Even though the vols will be coming to Athens after an easy win against NIU. I'm sure Fulmer will rest his starters.
After resting and licking our wounds with a week off. With some major preparations, we should be ready for battle between the trenches. I have a haunch we might donned the blackout for this game. We need all the help we can get. We'll even throw out the kitchen/bathroom sink. I can already guess it'll be a defensive battle. Our front four needs to penetrate through that front wall. I don't think we sacked Ainge at all the last 3 years. I believe that in order for us to win this game, we have to knock your front wall down and rattle Crompton early. We may have to blitz our LBs some, if we have to. With the experienced 4 DTs and plenty of speed from DE to keep our linemen fresh, we may have a good chance of tearing down the wall. And I'm hoping as heck with Clawson shuffling or flip flopping the o-line around will cause some confusion amongst themselves during the game. Slim chance, but I hope it does happened.
