WhiningLikeHeck - "Florida called and said they would like to rename the field "Spurrier Field" considering he has a winning record on it and all."

Serious question: Do you like anything about TN football?

On Mattingly: Shields-Watkins not just another field

Since I was at that Texas game that stands out the most to me. Just like DaddyVol said when he pulled back for that shot I was like "NOOOOOOOO......." then being part of the eruption when it went in was just incredible. The crowd reaction was similar to when Wilhoit kicked that 50 yard FG to edge FL in '04. Lofton, even more so than Pearl, is what has made TN Bball for me the past three years. I will miss him dearly.

On Poll: What is your favorite memory of Chris Lofton at Tennessee ?

Now, you said he was too irrelevant to talk to at what I'm guessing was a Big Orange Caravan stop or something similar. If I'm not mistaken, that would be a local/regional event. Why so irrelevant there but not online from the anonymous safety of home?

He’s obviously relevant enough for you to hang on every word uttered from his mouth so you can find some type of fault in it.

WhiningLikeCR, if Fulmer is so irrelevent that you won't tell him what you think to his face then why is he relevent enough that you feel the need to CONSTANTLY bring him up even when an article isn't about him?

Fulmer donated $1 million dollars last summer.

workinCR, those quotes are exactly what I said. He never says "Ainge is the Candace Parker of college football" But as always you will see what you want to validate your negative viewpoint.

workinCR, once again you twist things so you can see what you want to make snide cracks at Fulmer. CPF never compared Ainge to C. Parker in the way you seem to think. He said Ainge needed to be the team leader Parker was. He believed Ainge had the ability to do so and IMO he wasn’t far off the mark. There's a difference in what was actually meant and what you insinuate all too often.

Congratulations to Erik. He was all Vol and he will be missed. I wish him the best in NY. If he ever gets a chance to play at least he’ll already have experience dealing with an overly critical fanbase and media coverage.

3rd round is pretty good for a guy that hardly played this past year. I'm happy for him. Wish the NCAA had allowed him to stay one more year. The guy is a big play threat.

WD40, I see your point but it’s hard to put the '05 Bama game on the defense. When you hold a team to 6 points you shouldn't lose. Plus that play at the end was covered. The WR just made a great catch. By Vandy they had given up.

On a side note, did anybody notice USC had SEVEN players drafted today? How have they not won a NC in the past 3 years with that much talent? (okay they played for one but still)

On Patriots order Mayo at No. 10

"You know, looking back at 2005, we lost both Jerod and Jason Allen to season ending injuries by the 1st half of the GA game. Think losing two NFL 1st round defensive draft picks hurt us at all??"

Actually no... our defense in '05 was statistically ranked in the top ten of every category and around 4 against the run that year. Our D did everything it needed to do to win games (like holding FL to 1 td and 3 FG when put in bad spots by turnovers). The O really, really let them down. BIG TIME!

Anyway, happy for Mayo but will 2nd all comments regarding Pats.
