good post asleep. the michigan guy sounds like a good fit. however, phil should make marrone say no before he looks elswhere. marrone is a guy with a ton of experience who's not afraid to dip into his bag of tricks on a regular basis. his nfl experience would surely bode well in recruiting. the time for talk and speculation is over for cpf. it's time to make the right hire for the program's future, not for his!

On Adams: Secondary is primary for Vols

my bad, you are correct.

On Pennington: It's simple, just win

Touchdown.... Best LB? The last time i checked, Mayo was the best of the group. As far as the duke AD circus, I suppose all the times our coaching staff visited other schools, we created a circus. I guess it's ok for us, but not for others. Your comment on CPF is accurate, but his fall has nothing to do with academics or letting other staff's attend practice. It is simply a matter of a coach that has outstayed his welcome. The game has passed him by, and though his loyalty to Tennessee is honorable, if he loved us that much, he would see that his time as head coach has come to an end.

my only problem so far in the media coverage of the BB team, is that noone wants to mention the fact that J. Smith has been our best player ALL year. i have no problem with the coverage of our transfers, or Lofton's struggles, i'd just like to see J. Smith get more credit for the work that he's put in. It's the 6th man and all-sec all over again. Pay the man his respects!!!!

On Strange: Pick your poison with new-look Vols

Someone help me out here. This is supposedly a site for UT FANS, not haters. Yemmusdarb, why don't you go a gators or dogs site and hate on the vols. I'm sure they would be happy to have you. I've seen this kid play, and believe me, he can flat out get it done on the field. Wherever he ends up playing, he'll make a contribution. I, for one, am glad to have him aboard.

On Taylor's departure doesn't change Fowlkes

As a sweetwater man myself, of course i say Kippy is a great candidate, however, fulmer is probably not thinking of hiring his replacement. That being said, you can't judge a man's ability to lead or coach just by the way he praises or reacts to his players (chest bumps). In the end it will be fulmer's decision who will call the shots on the offensive side next year, and we all know he's not one to take chances or really go outside the walls of the dink and dunk.(See Randy Sanders) We need an innovative mind who can out-scheme some of the best DC's in the country. Did I forget to mention that he MUST be able to convince recruits that he can lead them to the promised land? (the NFL, not the national title we all need so desperately) When you look at those things, it all adds up to Kippy. Go Vols!!!!

On Replacing Cutcliffe

Posted on December 15 at 10:31 a.m.

Why does everyone resort to name calling on a sports blog site. This article has nothing to do with Cut or anything basketball related. It is about a YOUNG man and a scary health situation. I think we should all pray that Duke recovers and can live a normal life with or without basketball. I know he'll be in my prayers daily. Go Vols!!!

On Crews out indefinitely with heart condition

Why not wait until this all plays out until all you haters begin to critisize fulmer's choice for OC. He is knowingly on the "hot seat" even with the extension and $ increase. If he is smart, he will realize that his choice will likely determine his future or lack thereof at UT. As a TRUE fan, I can only hope that his search is broad, and his choice is in the best interest of the program and not in the best interest of keeping assistants on the staff happy.
