Written on Mark Wiedmer: Cuonzo Martin's exit gives UT what it deserves:

Weidmer needs to stick with the Mocs. Way out of his league here. Know-nothing Flip Flop.

Written on Robert Hubbs says he's sticking with UT; two potential candidates address opening:

in response to Slats:

I would not let Counzo back on campus to address his players now! He did not have the balls to address them prior to announcing his leaving and left it up to assistants to tell them!

Hope we can get a coach that can smile, show a little excitement, and win!

I agree completely with the idea of keeping Cuonzo Kiffin away from the TENNESSEE players at this point. If he were to meet with them, I believe the meeting should be closely monitored and have someone at the ready to throw the BS flag as needed. He's no longer the coach at TENNESSEE, what gives him the right to address the players. I have also heard that D. Hart was surprised at the announcement of Cuonzo Kiffin's departure. Has any statement been made that would lead one to think that Cal contacted the UT administration for permission to talk with Kudzu. I don't pretend to know all there is to know about the process in which they are engaged, but I do have enough common sense to know that it's not a good idea to allow Cuonzo Kiffin to address the team.

Written on Butch Jones makes sure team realizes spring break is over with grueling practice:

in response to JSmith525:

I did not see one game last season, and I saw them all, where the team "mailed it in".

Then again, I don't just look for something negative to b1tch about. I look for the good and the improvement, which was there all season. The team is young and getting better. I have no doubt that Coach Jones it the right man for the JOB. Go Vols..... We true fans have got your back Coach. Pay not attention what so ever to the nay-Sayers.

in response to keowee3718#379181:

What a waste. Now this ruins a good road trip. I was looking forward to going to New England for the UConn game next year. Maybe catch a Red Sox game at Fenway and tour New England in the fall. The quality of the opponent is the same, but the trip up North is a million times better. Thanks UT for killing good road trips (Chapel Hill, New England) what's next?

Written on A.J. Johnson says degree, SEC championship among 'unfinished' goals at UT:

Arse Monkey may be right. The SEC Championship may not happen. (Would kinda surprise me if it did). However, there's always hope for improvement and I believe we are headed in the right direction for good things to happen for OUR VOLS. We will improve this year and next year and until we reach those championship days again. I'm curious as to what name Arse Monkey will use when he jumps on the bandwagon. We will be Back ALL VOL...ALL THE TIME..

Written on 'Confidence' didn't drop in Josh Smith last season even if some passes did:

in response to magicbyswh#221420:

I have to agree with a post above. Smith does great in practice, then when the lights come on he is nowhere to be found. He is not a D-1 player. With the addition of the new receivers his chances are getting slimmer and slimmer. Smith is more suited for a D-3 team. Carson Newman will take him when he decides to transfer. They used to get alot of ex Tennessee players. Another Dooley miss that Jones inherited.

Being a snitch and a liar caught up to him. He had it made but the money and 20 something babes lost his focus, then again his character was already in question from previous stops.
Get over he ain't coming back, you same idiots that ran Coach Fulmer off will not stop until you put BB in the same mess.

First of all, let me applaud your children for working so hard to get an education. You must be proud of them. But after those facts were stated you got way of base. Coach Jones will handle this his way, which would probably work out to be much more effective than what you are proposing
. I would imagine that by the time coach Jones has completed his plan, we will see if AJ really wants to be a Vol. Relax, take a deep breath, and let the man who actually knows what he is doing take care of this.

And while you're at it, get rid of that ridiculous screen name.

Written on Butch Jones embarrassed by party arrests:

Tiny we can't ignore this anymore than we can the overated offensive line we had last year. I got two kids at UT and they have to work their butts off to pay for everything from tuition and housing to having to send $80 to buy a code to turn in their homework... And each have two jobs to do it. They don't have Time to pull this kind of phooey and neither should "student athletes". There are consequences to your actions. And at this point in our history we just don't have th luxury to do stupid stuff... Personally I think one less link to the dooley-bray era will only serve to speed up the rebuilding process. We need to look forward... And leave losers like AJ and tiny behind.

These Lady Vols are no longer in the lofty limelight of the Pat Summitt glory days. They are just another good team, among many. Not Final Four quality, though. Nobody fears Tennessee anymore. I see nothing over there that makes me think that they will return to those glory days in the foreseeable future.

Over there seems that the post may be coming from Nash. So, the content seems to be the Peabody slant on the situation. Go figure

Not Smart, but not the end of the world. Just let CBJ handle this. As for the snap judgment on how this should be handled, let it go. I'm sure CJB will gather all the facts and not make a knee jerk decision. Those of you who are so quick to send these kids to hell for a mistake, clean up your own back yard before you go to the neighbors house. I remember reading in a book somewhere that we aren't supposed to judge. It's a best seller, and I believe it to be quite the read.

Written on RB Derrell Scott picks Vols over South Carolina:

in response to oldster:

Hardly out of touch. I have seen what has happened to the football program since PF was fired. Evidently, you have not or have ignored it.

In fact, I was not very happy when they changed from the Single wing. However, the modern offenses are quite similar in many ways. It just goes to prove that old fashions come back in style.

I will only "get used to it" when the Vols return to at least the level they were under PF during the first 7 years of this millennium. Hopefully, BJ will do it, but so far he has proven little. While his first team did defeat a ranked team, the overall record was not only a losing one, but no better than what Dooley could have done.

Can't feed the trolls. Oh, by the way you need to see some body about that Schizophrenia.

Written on RB Derrell Scott picks Vols over South Carolina:

It fell when they fired a Hall of Fame coach because they did not remember that it takes time to institute a brand new offense. Impatience equals a decade or more of losing.

Glad to have added him into the fold. However, I recall the last time UT had two great running back recruits the same year. One left after playing a few plays his freshman year and never played college ball again. The other, about the same size as Scott, played a little, but then transferred to Arkansas State. Ergo, I will wait before being all in. Once bitten, twice shy, you know (actually bitten a heck of a lot more than once by the Vols).

Waaaaah. The sky is falling.

Don't quite buy into this "hate "Bama" philosophy. What's to hate? Their university ranks ahead of ours in several categories (sadly). If we hate them because they beat us in a few games, do we love them when we beat them? These games have "ebbed and receded" over the years. It is just a game and we will win again.

That said, an observation: where else but in the sporting world can someone who has never succeeded at anything be sought by one of the most successful companies? Lame has exhibited no people skills, no leadership attributes, no moral compass no....need I go on? Yet, here we (apparently) are. Someone clue me in.

When you are a Vol from birth you just learn to dislike Alabubba. Then later in life, when you have to work with someone from that place with the attitude they have, it just enhances that feeling. You are right, hate is a pretty strong word, but I do think this must be all new to you, or you're stirring the pot. Whatever, you just really learn to HATE the program.
