Attention! football historians:
Looking at the way UK played today it's easy to see UT loosing that game too and ending with a 4-8 record (PRAYING that they beat Vandy).
Has any UT football team ever lost 8 games????

Mind you, I did NOT say there were 2 or 3 GOOD players on this team there are just 2 or 3 worthy of scholarships.
These guys are generally terrible.
And I don't think Belicek or Saban or Miles or anybody could have gotten better production out of them.
Fire Fulmer for whatever you like, but his miserable recruiting has been the center of his teams weakness.
Really good players get better over time no matter who there coach might be.

From what I saw today, no coach in America could have done any better with this group of players.
Next year we may see a record number of freshmen playing because there are only 2 or 3 players on this team worth scholarships.

Interesting perspective on the so-called Spread offense from Ron Jaworski and Doug Flutie last weekend. They both dislike it because it hinders qb from developing skills at reading coverages. With guys who really need to develop those skills to a more than basic level, the spread is a distraction.
Relate that to the problems Vols qb's have had this year.

Other than the suggestion of good recruiting, what does Drayton have to show for his position to a new head coach? He's had three healthy, highly regarded running backs to work with this year and what have they done? Where does the Vols backfield rank nationally? How has he improved those players' performance this year?
Those are the things a new coach will evaluate. Not the chance he could loose one or two "good-but-not-great" recruits if Drayton is not retained.

Agree with Nick Stephen's analysis of his need for more playing time. That's odd, wonder why he hasn't gotten any more????

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Fulmer resign on his own (albeit, with considerable encouragement)? But, he DID actually resign and announce his resignation at the time of his choosing?
