Written on Jim Kelson, Vols 'OK' with 1st round :

Can Kelson not recruit good players in the States?? Why does he have to get all these Europeans? It's not like he's finding any diamonds in the rough.

Written on Did Tobias Harris and Scotty Hopson make the right decisions to go pro?:

There should be seperate polls. One for Scotty and one for Tobias

Written on Poll: Will the Vols make the NCAA tournament?:

People are stupid to think Tennessee won't make the tournament. Crawl back under your rocks.

Written on Head official backs refs for Music City :

in response to CrankE:

Amen x 1000. If UT is such a dump of a team as so many love to proclaim, then how come UNC struggled so hard to get anything done?

It's not whining to demand that the rules be followed.

Crank E is correct. Football is a game. To play, one needs three things:
- equipped players
- officials
- a field
One does not need fans, coaches, media, or anything else. Nice to have? Yes. Needed? No.
When one of the needs isn't fair and square. the game's integrity is compromised.
That's what this din is about - competent, fair, and square officials - not about winning or losing.

Written on The Morning After: Tennessee vs North Carolina:

in response to born2ride:

Who cares? It was the Franklin American Mortgage Music City bowl. A non-BCS bowls mean nothing.

We fired Coach Fulmer for going to these tiny bowls. We should hold Dooley to the same standards and not accept mediocre losses.

Fulmer was fired because his teams were in long term decline, because he was becoming less and less competitive, and was unable to do anything about it despite clear signals from authorities, boosters, and fans that he must. Dooley is starting right where Fulmer left him, with the added burden of a Kiffin calamity sandwiched between.

Written on The Morning After: Tennessee vs North Carolina:

in response to SummittsCourt:

The Vols are in good shape, winning this game would have been great now, but I believe the returning players will use this to motivate them for next year. With the schedule we have next year 9-3 or 10-2 is a real possibility.

Tyler Bray will continue to grow, the O-Line will be much better, Justin & Da'Rick will be a great WR tandem and the defense will continue to be stout (with or without Wilcox, hope its with though).

Can't wait until Kickoff next year.

What will change in the running game next season? O-line will be better, but is that enough?

Written on Bruce Pearl suspended first 8 games of 2011 SEC season:

That there are numbers of people, and coaches, behaving similarly out there, or worse, what does this change? Is the fantastic and fake world of high entertainment, and sport, to redefine one's standards? The issue is not whether Bruce Pearl remains at UT as coach or not, or his W - L record, the issue is how the kids who look up to him judge those of us who judge him.

Written on Bruce Pearl suspended first 8 games of 2011 SEC season:

No one of conscience and character stands behind a liar, particular a liar in a position of leadership, and more particularly one charged with leading young people. The power of example is second only to the Divine.

Written on Bruce Pearl suspended first 8 games of 2011 SEC season:

Somedays peanuts, somedays shells ... in our case, never a Pearl, we were fooled, always a shell.

Bruce Shell.

Written on Couch tables decison; junior college DT was in a 'rush' :

He obviously got wired some money from somebody.

Written on Mississippi State WR Leon Berry out with dislocated ankle:

They have the worst WRs in the SEC

Written on Pearl penalized by UT for misleading NCAA investigation:

Dadgumit!
Well, now cause to reflect ... a man who jettisons his wife of 25 years, the mother of all his kids, and within a year publicly declares a new squeeze "the love of my life" ... Ladies and gentlemen, there are issues of character here ... and there is no separating character, no compartmentalizing, between public, professional, and private lives. If it walks like a duck; it's a duck.

Written on Vols change 2011 opening opponent:

Written on Kings invite Chism to camp :

Looking at the Kings' roster, I think it will be very difficult for Chism to make the team. It's hard to turn down an offer which could result in making an NBA roster, but when 6 figures are guaranteed... take the money.

Written on Crompton looks to NFL future:

I know it's been said before, but I am ashamed with how some Vol "fans" treated Crompton. He was a good kid, did the right things, and worked hard. There is nothing more I can want from UT players. I'm glad that it paid off for him, and I wish him all the luck in San Diego!

Written on Adams: At UT, hot hire or a hot seat :

Good perspective, John.

Written on UT signee Hunter on World Junior track team:

good for him! Go USA, bring home the gold!

Written on Pearl watching players in Germany :

Cam Tatum should get some of these opportunities too.

Written on Vols get a kick with addition of Darr :

He probably looked at our offense and thought that he would get a lot of opportunities to punt.

I think Choice Spine or DeRoyal. But seriously, I don't even know half of who these people are.

Written on Oregon prep star dumps Washington for Kentucky:

Who cares. His roster was essentially the quality of a bad NBA team last year and look how far it got him. Having the #1 class year after year just sets UK fans up for dissappointment. They will never win a title playing so many freshmen.

Written on Brittany Jackson and sister arrested in 'domestic' dispute:

Written on Special delivery for UT guard Bone :

i think they are trying to use him as the back-up PG next year. I'm thinking that Golden might start off playing the 2 because he's a lights-out shooter, but probably isn't ready to lead the point
