I also like it when Wayne steps out and shoots the ball. Maybe 4 in a half is too many, but it really will open things up inside if you can draw out a 4 or 5 man. With guys like Maze, Tatum, Tyler, and Hopson taking it to the basket, Wayne's ability to hit that outside shot can get a shot blocker out of the paint. I think he needs to keep himself established as a threat out there. I guarantee you that's why he has Bruce's blessing to take that shot, and I also guarantee you Bruce lets him know when he takes a bad one.

how uneducated is it for SI to project Childress as the starter? Nothing against the guy, but whoever wrote that apparently didn't do ANY homework.

trooper taylor = overrated. hasn't called 1 play for Okie State this year. needs to be a HC somewhere else and successful at it before you'd even think of bringing him to a place like Tennessee.
My short list in no particular order:
Brewster, Brian Kelly, Leach, Davis
Hopefully those in charge will do their homework and make the right call, even if it's a different name than those above.
As for Fulmer, it was time, but it is a bittersweet day. Wish him the best in whatever he decides to do from this point.

Glad to see Duke gets their perennial top 5 ranking to start the season. The same guys who nearly got bounced by Belmont in the first round. The basketball preseason poll is worse than the football one...it's all about the name on the jersey, not what the realistic outlook of the squad is...hard to argue though with UNC and Louisville being up there. Just know that Duke could field a team of all chimpanzees and the coaches/media would start them in the top 5.

biggest culprit I saw in the game was defense. lots of people have mentioned the "red-hot shooting Zags" and they shot well, but good shooters make open shots. Got lost on picks too often and let guys look at the basket. Seemed like during a large portion of the game the defensive intensity as a whole was lacking, and I expect this will be a focus in practice, and I think it's a lesson learned for a lot of these new faces.
