If we can't... If we don't.... Kiffin will fail.
Give the guy a break. He is the one making $2m to make these decisions. If he fails in 4 years, then he fails. I applaud everything he has done so far and look forward to many championships under his coaching.

Saban was 15-17 in the NFL with a decent amount of talent and an owner who let him run the team. Kiffin's record at the Raiders was not that good, but he was trying to build a talented team from scratch and he worked for a psycho owner. NFL success or failure does not insure college success or failure. I like Coach Kiffin's odds because he has coached and recruited winners at USC. He will bring that winning mentality to Knoxville, which has left us since the 2001 SEC championship game. Go Vols!

If we were 3/4 plays away from an 8/9 win season this year, then we were 4 plays from a 5-7 season last year.
I thank CPF for all that he has done for the Vol football program. But, we need to remember, he has 6 million reasons to have good memories from his time as the Head Coach on the Hill.

Great start to the hoops season. We have some serious but young talent on this team.

I was there and I agree. We win that game and we might have gotten our second NC with Coach Fulmer. Coaching was not good in the 2nd half of that game, against a backup QB from LSU.
Thanks for some good memories, Coach Fulmer. I look forward to a new Coach who can bring back the excitment of your first 10 years.

So $250 has quadrupled in 16 years? Let me know where to invest.....

I agree. I would think that not being supportive of the program while under contract could get them fired with no buyout.
UT will get a coach sometime after the conference championship games. I would be shocked if any of the coaches that UT wanted to talk to would talk until their regular season is over. And if anyone thinks that the UT job is not the best available, they are of questionable intelligence. Facilities, tradition fan support and playing is the best conference put us among the top 10 jobs in the country. What we need now is a Coach to bring that tradition back. That could be Mike Leach.

"Fulmer was faced with the unenviable role of holding three practices this week to prepare for the Wyoming game, all while knowing his tenure at UT was coming to an end."
This is made much easier with a $6 million paycheck. Most people who lose their jobs don't have such a luxury. Quit feeling sorry for the Fulmers. I did 4 weeks ago. It is now beginning to make me sick.

Johnny Majors was at the game, sitting in Section Z13 I think. I wonder how he felt? Did he laugh at the situation because of Fulmer, or was he disgusted at how far the Vols have fallen? I think Fulmer was great for UT for the first 10 years or so, but things began to go downhill from there. I will give Majors credit - he did have to rebuild a program that had fallen apart. Fulmer never had to do that. But our next coach will.
